What's Hap-pinning Wednesday: Favorite Spring Clothing I Actually Own

Hey friends, and Happy May!

I had the hardest time finding cute spring tops and casual dresses this year. I usually go online and think, "Oooohhh! I want that one...and that one...and that one..." and could just go crazy. But this year, I wasn't able to find anything I just loved without doing a little digging and a lot of research. I know the current trend is shorter tops, but that's just not my style at 32 and post-babies, and while I think the boho trend is adorable, it just never looks as cute on me as I wish it did.

So, I wanted to round up my favorite tops and dresses that I've purchased, actually own and love!

one || two || three

four || five || six

seven || eight || nine

Why I Love Them:

I love this dress! I wore it for the first time on Sunday (to church) and can tell you I'll be wearing it all spring and summer long. I dressed it up with my Kendra Scott earrings and matching necklace and nude wedges and it was so cute! It will be so cute with slides, Converse or dressed up with nude heels. The color is so cute and I love the ruffle sleeves (which are a bit stiff to keep their shape).

This is about as boho as I'll go! This dress is very similar to the Amazon one currently making its way around the blog world, but runs very true to size. (I'm normally a small or 2/4 and I got the small and it fits perfectly.) I won't wear it to church or anything, but it is cute for dinners out with friends, running errands in the hot Texas summer or on vacation.

It's long-sleeved, yes, but the eyelet detail is adorable for spring! I have paired it with high-waisted, tie-front navy shorts and it looked really cute. It would also be cute with distressed jeans or black pants for a night out.

I love the cute little side-tie and the chambray is a great color for summer with white jeans. I love pairing it with nude sandals and an earring with a pop of color.

The shortest of all the tops, it's not "short," per se. I love this color for spring; it's the perfect pink without making you look washed out. (And this is coming from someone with skin the color of snow.) I typically pair this with white jeans and even wore it to lunch on Easter Sunday

This is the same exact color as the ruffle-sleeve dress (above) and I love it! It's a great color to transition into summer and looks great on both pale and tan skin. It's a very lightweight, 100% cotton shirt, but I love that the wrap-front adds just a little something "extra."

It has ruffles on the sleeves, which works great for me; I'm not absolutely crazy about my upper arms and love that this covers them without looking silly. And, I love that it's not a boxy crop-type top. I bought it in this army green to hopefully wear as a transition piece into fall when it's still 100* here in Texas in October.

Like with #7, above, it has ruffles on the sleeves, which I love. The fabric is so soft and the best part? It's currently on clearance! It totally wasn't when I bought it, so go scoop it up!

I personally think this is the short-sleeved version of #3 (above). The eyelet is great for this time of the year, and the balloon sleeves are just something fun. I like wearing it with jeans or shorts, and it's cute enough to dress down for running errands around town, but also nice enough to dress up with jeans or black pants for an evening out.

So there you have it! Have you found any outfits you're loving this season?

  4. I love your picks, especially the short-sleeve eyelet top!

  5. I love number 6; I find I am often on the hunt for longer shirts. I hate having to pull them back down every single time I move like I usually do with shorter shirts.

  6. Love your style - and the new blog look!
