Long Weekending Recap

Happy Tuesday, friends! Is anyone else thrown off that today is Tuesday? I'm so excited for a short week after a long weekend.

Here's a bit of what we were up to over the Memorial Day weekend:

+ We met my friend Nicole and her two girls at a local trampoline park for toddler time to let them get their energy out. We're trying to get some fun stuff done before all the places get too crowded!

+ Brandon got home from work around lunchtime (love his summer Fridays!) and then we took the boys to get snow cones after nap.

+ Brandon made us homemade sausage, egg and cheese biscuits for breakfast. So good! I told him these are going to have to be on the regular rotation.

+ Walker swam (for two hours!) Knox pushed his bubble mower across the entire backyard and Brandon got some stuff done, and then my mother-in-law came over for hamburgers. That afternoon, Brandon and Walker went to the golf course to play nine holes with my father-in-law while Knox took an epic three-hour nap.

+ When Knox woke up, I took him to a local popsicle shop for a Fruity Pebbles Pop before meeting Brandon, Walker, my father-in-law and mother-in-law for supper at the golf course once the guys were finished playing.

+ We went to church, and I couldn't resist dressing my babies in red, white and blue!

+ After church, we met Brandon's younger brother, our sister-in-law and nephews at Great Wolf Lodge for an afternoon of swimming fun! They were staying there overnight, but had extra passes to the pool area and asked if we wanted to join; of course we said "yes!" The boys all had so much fun!

+ We had a lazy morning at home, and then met Brandon's younger brother, our sister-in-law and nephews for lunch. Love these sweet cousins!

+ We came home from lunch with full bellies and all took amazing two-hour naps. We were so busy this weekend and we were tired from being on-the-go!

+ Monday evening, we went over to my in-law's house for their annual Memorial Day party. We got there a bit early so the boys could swim before we ate supper. We had delicious barbecue, all the fixings and sides and yummy dessert and came home full yet again!

I hope y'all had a wonderful long weekend and had a chance to reflect on those many men and women who lost their lives serving our great nation. We are so grateful to them that we can proudly wear these colors. Freedom is never, ever free.
