Weekending: Last One for April

It's Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a great one and spent so much time outside, which was so welcomed. Here's a peek into our weekend:

\\ FRIDAY:

+ We met our neighbor and her girls at Station Ice House for dinner. Her husband is a pilot and was flying, so he wasn't able to join, but we had so much fun! We are so grateful for great neighbors!

\\ SATURDAY:

+ It was our neighborhood's semi-annual garage sale, so my neighbor and I loaded up the kids to walk the neighborhood to see if we could find anything. We didn't find anything for ourselves, but the kiddos got a couple of toy treasures. ;) Brandon stayed at home and got a ton of yard work done while we were out and about, and Knox "helped" him mow the yard when we got back home from our walk.

+ We spent the afternoon crossing tons of small house projects off our list, making a trip to Lowe's, and rounded it out with a visit to Frios Gourmet Pops, which was a nice treat!

+ The boys both took epic naps (2.5 hours for Walker and three for Knox!) and then decided they wanted to swim when they woke up. It honestly started as them putting their feet in on our little island, then wading in, and then full-on swimming (in undies, no less). It was a chilly 75* in the pool, but they didn't seem to mind. We are so looking forward to summer!

My Nana got them their towels for Easter from Pottery Barn Kids. This is Knox's and this is Walker's

+ We are back on the low-carb train (where and when we can), so I made this casserole for supper and we called it an early night.

\\ SUNDAY:

+ We went to church + Sunday School, came home for leftovers on the patio, and then the boys and I took naps while Brandon did some more stuff outside. He can't sit still! ;)

+ Post-naps, we made a{nother} trip to Lowe's, where I found these two little stands that I'm using as side tables for our patio furniture.

+ The boys did lots of playing outside while I made these muffins, did some laundry and made an easy supper: sweet potatoes topped with coleslaw mix, some brisket (that my Nana had given us to keep in the freezer for an easy meal like this one!), and some BBQ sauce and served with a side salad. So easy and yummy!

+ We had a lazy evening watching "You vs. Wild" with the boys on Netflix (they love it!) and calling it an early night.

I hope everyone has great weeks!

Friday Favorites: Last One for April

Happy Friday, y'all! Lots of favorites over here today, so let's get right to it:

-ONE-
I realized this week that we only have one week left of BSF and three weeks left of school for the year! How crazy is that?! I like to get the boys' preschool teachers an end-of-year gift as as massive "thank you for teaching/putting up with/loving/praying for my babies," so I got to work on those while they were at preschool yesterday.

I found this printable on Pinterest and the rest of the stuff at my local Target and Ace Hardware. I've linked what I was able to find online. :)

Bag (couldn't find online; similar here) || towel (I got two of these and two of these) || sunscreen || water bottle (couldn't find online; similar here) || lip balm || chocolate || napkins || koozie || wine glass || paper straws (couldn't find online; similar here) || candle

-TWO-
And I also like to get their BSF teachers a little something, too, for teaching my boys all about Jesus each week -- and doing it totally on a volunteer basis. I found these potted plants at Trader Joe's and affixed this printable (found on Pinterest) to them with twine. I loved how they turned out!

-THREE-
I asked y'all on Instagram Wednesday night if you had a favorite (somewhat cheap) sunless tanner or bronzing cream. And y'all delivered!!! I ended up going with the Bondi Sands Everyday Gradual Self Tanner Milk and the Tan-Luxe "The Gradual" and will let you know my thoughts on those once I use them a few times. But, here are the others that were recommended. So thank you for your input! If anyone else has others they like, please comment and let me know! :)

one || two || three || four || five || six

seven || eight || nine || ten || eleven

-FOUR-
Pictures of pictures, I know, but I got the boys' preschool spring picture proofs and I just...I can't even. How do they get them to smile like this?! I would have to bribe them with candy for days to get those cute grins. (Also, my baby in a cap and gown...I cannot.)

-FIVE-
Favorite Amazon purchase(s) of the week:

+ These tortoise shell hoops ($9.99):

+ This one-piece swimsuit ($29.99):

What's Hap-pinning Wednesday: Easter Rewind

Happy Wednesday, y'all! I hope everyone had a great Easter spent with those you love. I fully intended to get this post up earlier than today, but, life happens and here we are. ;)

We spent Easter in my hometown with my family and it was so amazing! We also had gorgeous weather and that was such a nice change from the typically rainy Easters we've had in previous years.

Brandon was in Canada all last week and flew in on Friday, and we picked him up from the airport, came home to load the cars, grabbed a quick lunch at Gloria's and then hit the road.

We got to my hometown in the late afternoon, then just enjoyed an evening visiting with my parents and sister. Then, my grandparents; aunt, uncle, and cousin came over to my parents' house for dinner. It was so nice getting to see everyone!

Saturday morning, we took our time getting moving and then headed to a little art show they were having on the lake. There's an adorable little store there and of course my dad let the boys get ice cream before lunch. Anything goes with grandparents, ha! ;)

We browsed the vendors (we got a beautiful hand-blown glass wine stopper for my mother-in-law's birthday and some homemade soaps) and then had lunch from a vendor set up there. It was such a gorgeous day!

Knox got to "drive" the Mule back to the house and the boys napped while I got some Easter baking done, my mom made some flowers for her photo backdrop, and the guys got to work!

My mom made this adorable backdrop for us to take Easter pictures in front of! She's so talented.

The boys dyed eggs with my mom, we tested out the photo backdrop, had hamburgers for dinner, and then my dad took us on a little sunset boat cruise.

Sunday morning, the boys awoke to their Easter baskets!

We got dressed for church, took a few pictures before we left, and enjoyed a beautiful Easter Sunday service at my home church. The boys even went up to the front for the children's sermon and it was so cute!

My dress is here

The church had a cute little area set up to take pictures, so we all gathered there to snap some photos. And then, of course, leave it up to my family to accidentally break the backdrop. Ha!

After a quick change, my parents hosted Easter lunch at their house for our extended family. It was so delicious and we were stuffed. My mom had each family unit take a photo in front of the backdrop and they all turned out just precious!

We ate lunch, let the kids have their Easter egg hunt, and then they got to open their Easter gifts. It was a beautiful day to celebrate our risen Savior!

My shirt is here and the letterboard is here
