Weekending

Happy Monday! Our weekend was super low-key, as I had the flu all last week and was still recovering. Thankfully I feel back to 100% today, and it's so nice to feel "normal" again.

We spent Friday at the local pumpkin patch. I was finally feeling pretty well, the doctor said I wasn't contagious anymore, and the boys had been cooped up all week long so I decided to pack them up and just go. It was a cool{er} morning with a bit of a breeze, so it wasn't quite as miserable as I thought! (We are supposed to get temperatures in the 60's and 70's next week and I'm beyond excited about that!)

We watched more "Moana," "Coco" and episodes of "Team Umizoomi" last week than I care to admit, and here was Knox breaking up yet another TV marathon while I recovered with a little funny: stealing his brother's dress-up clothes and clearly exuding all the joy imaginable about that

I took a very long nap on Saturday morning while Brandon and the boys played T-ball outside in the backyard, and once I woke up from that, I finally felt human again. We watched lots of college football on TV, I picked up the house back to "Mom Standard" after being sick all week, and then I ended the night playing with the boys in the driveway and taking a long, hot bath with lavender Epsom salts.

We didn't go to church yesterday morning because I just wanted to give myself one more day. Instead, we had a very lazy morning getting things done around the house. Our sellers had big dogs in the house and it was very obvious, as many of the corners and baseboards/trim in our home had been scratched or had paint missing from them rubbing up against them. So, I touched that all up around the house and I can't believe how much better it looks!

We had lunch at Torchy's Tacos, made a trip to Home Depot and Lowe's, and Brandon spent the entire afternoon skipping football and instead installing new light switches in our entire house -- from basic single pole switches to the rocker-type switches. I love how it looks! We have a few that we're going to have to get an electrician out for, as this house has an insane amount of light switches, and more than half of them turn on lights in three different places -- it's insane! So we have to get someone out to cap those, and then patch and paint. Never a dull moment with home ownership.

Tomorrow, Brandon and I celebrate eight years of marriage! I can't believe it, but I'm so grateful for eight years with my best friend.

Happy Monday, y'all! Have a great week!

  1. SO glad you are feeling back to normal! That sounded like a doozy!! I'm encouraged to know Brandon could switch out most of the light switches in your house. Our outlets and switches are a gross off-white color and they've bothered me for years! I assumed we would need a professional! Enjoy your week!
