Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!

The boys started back to preschool yesterday! Walker is in Pre-K and Knox is in the two-year-old class. I can't believe this is our last year before Kindergarten; I can't even think about it without getting choked up. But, the boys did great, their teachers are so sweet, and it is nice to be back in the routine of school again. Summer sure did fly!

One of our favorite back-to-school traditions is eating s'mores for dessert the night before school, so that's just what we did Wednesday night!

Speaking of school, parents are in charge of snacks for the kids each week. This year, Walker's class has allergies to: dairy, gluten, eggs and peanuts. Without sounding insensitive, we thankfully don't have to deal with any sort of food allergy with either of our boys, so I'm at a loss of what to bring for snack. (I know I can bring fresh fruits and vegetables.) I asked earlier this week on Instagram and here's some ideas I was sent on the list below. But if you have any other snack ideas that are free of daily, gluten, eggs and peanuts, please let me know in the comments!

Note: This is for a Pre-K class made up of 4-5-year-olds. (And the ? noted on my list next to two items are just snacks I've never heard of before.)

Yup, I've "gol' darn gone and done it," as Shania Twain once sang, and purchased my first pair of Halloween jammies for the boys. Whoopsies! Old Navy was having a sale recently and these jammies were $8.50 each, so I couldn't resist. Y'all know I love me a good theme pajama! I'll do a roundup of my favorite Halloween-themed jammies/clothes in a couple weeks.

An Instagram friend of mine {hi Jamie-Lynne!} sent me a link to this jacket at Walmart that is the complete and utter dupe of the Thread & Supply Wubby Fleece Pullover from Nordstrom. I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but you better believe I ordered it from Walmart's website really quickly!  Jamie-Lynne is the queen of finding dupes like this one, so I asked her to do a full post for y'all, and she agreed! That's coming next week, so be on the lookout for that.

I took the boys with me to Walmart on Monday and saw this giant Chewbaca mask as we were wandering the clearance aisle. I had to have my Star Wars-loving Walker take a picture with it and now I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy it because it's absolutely hysterical to me! Haha!

  1. Hope your boys have the happiest year sweet mama x

  2. I just about fell off my chair with that Wal-Mart dupe!!! I can't wait to hear what you think about it once it comes in so I can order it, ha! And you know my feelings on holiday themed PJs! I can't wait for Camden to wear those ON ones. I hope Walker is feeling better today! Lots of prayers for that sweet boy!!

  3. Fresh veggies are a great snack! You can also find vegan ranch (so dairy and egg-free) to dip it in! Carrots, celery, bell peppers. And obviously fresh sliced fruit would be good too :)

  4. I can't wait to start buying cute, themed pajamas soon! Those Halloween ones that you found are perfect for October! Hope you have a great weekend :)

  5. That Walmart dupe- wow!! Ordering now cause I can for sure see it selling out!

  6. I seriously need to head to wal-mart!

  7. Thanks for the tip on the WM sweatshirt. My daughter will love that! Have a wonderful weekend!
