Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Coming atcha today from my desk in my office, which I'm so excited to finally have. I would previously blog in my bed or on the couch, so it's nice to have a designated place to get some work done.

Speaking of work done, our master bathroom is still a work in progress. We've actually been dealing with a nightmare of a company trying to get this done, and they've promised they'll be done a week from today...but I'm not holding my breath. They've made mistake after mistake and have talked down to me as a female and it's just been an awful experience, and quite honestly, hard to feel "settled" when your home is under construction and workers are in and out of your house (and not treating it like a home) all day long. Anyway, here are some "in-progress" pictures, and I'm sure hoping to have some "finished" pictures to share soon enough:

You can see where they tried to get away with having a crooked shower and we weren't having any of that. So, back to the drawing board (for them).

Away from discussing anything about the house again, I shared here but wanted to share again: Walmart has the cutest faux-Natives for little ones for $4.98 in stores! I bought them for the boys and they're so adorable -- and for that price?! Also, if you're not following @whoawaitwalmart on Instagram, you so need to!

Sweet Knox has been battling croup and RSV this week, and the poor thing has been pitiful. He was completely fine Saturday and woke up Sunday with a croup-y cough, so I took him to the doctor on Monday morning and he was diagnosed with croup. He kept getting worse and worse, so I took him back on Wednesday morning and he was diagnosed with RSV. It's been pretty sad hearing and seeing him like this, but thankfully he's on the up-and-up and we're hoping to get to enjoy the nice spring weather outside next week after being holed up at home this week.

Also this week, Walker had spring pictures at school and WHY DOES HE LOOK 12?!? Ugh, my heart.

Walker's shirt is sold out {similar}, shorts and shoes

I have a little Mom Tip for y'all that my friend shared with me: download Chick-fil-A's app and, instead of waiting in line with your toddlers flailing all about/running around the restaurant/screaming that they're hungry/etc. {not that I know anything about that}, order your food from the app and select "Carry Out." When you pull up to the restaurant, it will notify you that you're there and ask you to pay. By the time you're out of the car and into the restaurant, your food is ready and waiting for you at the "Carry Out" section of the counter. And, you can customize your meal (like asking for extra salt or light ice or a special "3 and Under" toy) and it's all there waiting for you. What a time to be alive.

I bought this dress yesterday and I cannot wait for it to get here. I just love the blush color and thought it would be so cute for this summer! Old Navy for the win.

Special, special thanks to Photowall for sending us this amazingly gorgeous American Flag canvas to hang in the playroom! It's so beautiful and exactly what I was wanting to add to the play area to remind the boys daily just how blessed they are to live in this country. Thank you, Photowall! We love it!

  1. Do those native knockoffs come in half sizes? Graham is inbetween. A 6 is too small and a 7 is huge in natives. Help! Haha. So sorry about all the mess with the contractors. So frustrating!! Hope Knox is feeling better this morning!!

  2. I use the Chick-Fil-A app all the time! It is a life saver.

  3. I just bought those shoes at Walmart yesterday for my daughter! I've heard great things about them and you can't beat the price. I get so much great stuff at Walmart; totally underrated! Happy Friday!

  4. Waaaaiiiiiit a minute! They offer special 3 and under toys!? Are they different than the books!?

  5. I can't wait for your full home tour :) Happy weekend! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  6. Youre the second person to mention the walmart account and I totally just followed it and the target one. Love the Natives--once Ella has feet large enough to fit (she's still 6-9 months and 3-6 in some shoes!), I'll totally be scoping those out! And also Walker....why is he so dang handsome and big??
Love the bathroom--don't love the headache. It'll look great, just hang in there!!

  7. Chick fil app is a godsend, those shoes are amazing for the littles, I love the layout of the bathroom tiles and prayers Knox gets to feeling better. xoxo

  8. Um that chick fil a app sounds amazing! Yesterday I waited in the drive through forever then ate in my car while Tatum slept! Happy weekend, lady!

  9. Ugh it's so frustrating dealing with companies that are trying to get away with something or put half the effort into a job. And totally unacceptable for them to talk down to you as a woman. Hoping things are on the up and up for you guys! & I just placed yet another Old Navy order yesterday haha--their spring stuff is just too good!

  10. I will certainly check out the Walmart knock-off natives... because that's even cheaper than the Old Navy ones my Sammy wore daily last summer. Can't beat 'em!

Sorry for your sick kiddo and sucky workers... this too shall pass!

  11. I'm sorry Knox is sick! That doesn't sound fun, especially with all the nightmare construction. Can't wait to see the finished bathroom but that super sucks they're doing a bad job :/

  12. So sorry your boy has been so sick. I had a preschooler and a baby that were battling RSV at the same time many, many years ago and it was awful. Hopefully he'll be back to his old self in no time.

  13. Your flag canvas is really fab - must be nice to be making so much progress in the house - it is looking amazing! I watched your instastories, read your blog etc and was so impressed how you project managed it all before you went in -I don't think I could have had such foresight and creativity. Sorry to hear about Knox' cough - hopefully he will get better soon. Now - Chick Fil-A - one of these was next to my dorm at A&M and we got to use our 'Aggie Bucks' there. So I did. About 5 times a week. Haven't had one in FAR too long. It pains me :) Joanne x

  14. I absolutely adore that canvas! Also, thank you for the app tip. That is seriously genius and something I know I will use in the future.

  15. I just got V those faux Natives! Best deal ever! Now I feel so silly for buying her a pair of real Natives... you live and you learn!
