Thoughts for Thursday: Currently

Hey y'all! Life has been way busier than I had intended for January {so much for the New Year's resolution of slowing down...} and so I feel a bit all over the place to be completely honest. I'm trying to be a bit more intentional about slowing down (hopefully) next month.

Anyway, here's a bit of what I'm currently...

+ READING:
I'm almost finished with Emily Ley's "A Simplified Life: Tactical Tools for Intentional Living," and I have really enjoyed reading it. It's so helpful and it truly has helped me be more intentional with my time and just making me work smarter, not harder. I would recommend this book 100 times over.

+ WATCHING:
All the "This is Us." Y'all, this show makes me bawl like a baby every. single. week. I haven't loved a show this much since "Parenthood," and I honestly think I like this one better than "Parenthood." So, so good.

I'm also into "The Bachelorette," because I just can't not watch it every season; and of course the Real Housewives. I pretty much watch every one except for a few and get sucked in every time.

+ WEARING:
I have been living in my Zella leggings, Spanx leggings and Caslon knit jacket lately. It has been so cold here {to us Texans, anyway} and I've been super bundled up and as comfy as possible.

+ AMAZON PRIME-ING:
It feels like my kids have had lingering coughs since before Christmas {I AM SO READY FOR SPRING}, so my Amazon Prime orders look a little something like this: a warm-mist humidifier because cool-mist ones just aren't cutting it; children's Dimetapp; Zarbee's Baby Immune Support; and some wipe-clean workbooks for Walker to work on tracing letters. Mom Life to the extreme.

+ EATING:
We are still on the "Modified Whole 30" train, making as many Whole 30-approved meals as possible. Since the boys eat what we eat 99% of the time, we can't fully eliminate dairy -- and this girl has to have a splash of almond milk creamer in her morning cup of coffee. Some of my favorite meals we've made lately have been Skinnytaste's Balsamic Chicken with Roasted Vegetables; Tone and Tighten's Ground Turkey Taco Lettuce Wraps; and Real Food Whole Life's Sweet Potato and Pineapple Beef Bowls with Mango Avocado Salsa

+ DOING:
All the cooking, cleaning, picking up, organizing, laundry and entertaining that comes with being a wife and mom to two little boys. I often think our life is pretty darn boring, to tell the truth, but I know the memories are made in the mundane, everyday life events.

But aside from that...we are looking at houses! We haven't listed ours just yet, but we are looking with our realtor to see what's out there. It's a very scary, overwhelming, time-consuming, frightening step, but I'm excited about what the future holds for us.

And aside from that, I've got my Invisalign! It's a real process, let me tell you, and I'm quite self-conscious right now {I know, vanity}, but I'm also excited for the future for that. Not only for it to be off and over, but to feel more confident in my smile and have a healthier mouth.

+ LOOKING FORWARD TO:
A Vegas trip in early March; warmer weather {winter is for the birds}; our annual beach vacation in May; and celebrating Walker's fourth birthday next weekend. (How is my first baby almost FOUR?!)

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Thursday, friends! Almost the weekend!

  4. We're trying to eat more whole 30 (less carbs) and it's an adjustment but I feel better when we stick to it! We got off track with all the snow plowing and not being home much but I'm excited to get back on track now. Is eating like that mainly what you did to hit your weight loss goal?
