Our weekend flew by in a flash. I swear we need an extra day between Saturday and Sunday! Here's how I'm feeling today:

It was a super rainy, icky morning, so our plans were really to lay low: we picked up our groceries from Walmart; grabbed Chick-fil-A for lunch; and took naps. Once it was sunny after naps, we went on a little walk; Knox stole his brother's toy while he was...indisposed...and we got ready for the Baylor men's basketball game with the boys' "Brother Bear/Baby Bear" jammies.

Sadly, the Bears lost {badly} to South Carolina, but my boys looked so cute!

I made this for supper and we went to bed after the sad Baylor game.

We had a busy day! Walker had soccer in the morning, then we headed to a 3rd birthday party for one of Walker's sweet friends. His mama, Stacy, is a dear friend of mine and is the ultimate party planner: the party started at their house with a pancake breakfast, followed by a short walk to a local fire station for a tour for the kiddos. Walker, of course, was obsessed with the fire trucks!

We came home; grabbed a quick lunch; Brandon went to play golf with his dad and older brother; the boys took naps while I read a lot of my book; and then we went to our across-the-street neighbor's little first birthday party.

The big boys mowed our lawn while I picked weeds in the flower beds and played with Knox. We had leftovers for supper; Brandon and I watched a DVR'd episode of "Dateline" {where I proceeded to fall asleep on the couch} and then we called it an early night. #adulting

We took the boys out early to get some pictures in the bluebonnets. Texans love us some Texas, and something we do every year is stick our babies in the bluebonnets and get a picture for posterity. ;)

We got home and Knox started acting super fussy, was running a low-grade fever and tugging at his ear, so we scrapped plans for church and hung out at home instead. {I'm taking him into the pediatrician this morning as soon as they open; I'm suspecting an ear infection, sigh.}

I ran to the grocery store for a few things while Brandon stayed home with the boys; then he ran out to Home Depot once I was home for supplies to replace our air vent covers in our house. {See: #adulting}. Knox slept for 2.5 hours in the afternoon and then went to bed at 6:15 p.m. because he was feeling so crummy. Here's to hoping he feels better today after seeing the doctor!

Have a great week, y'all!

Happy Friday, y'all! We have a busy weekend ahead with not one but two birthday parties, Walker's soccer and hopefully a nap for all of us {fingers crossed on that one!}.

Here's what I'm loving this week:

Good customer service makes such a difference and goes such a long way with me. I had two instances of good customer service recently: with J.Crew and Walmart.

The first, I had ordered this dress from J.Crew, but when I tried it on, realized I needed a smaller size {all the praise hands for that!}, but then remembered I had thrown the receipt and all the packaging away when I got it. I called J.Crew a couple of weeks later, and not only did they expedite the shipping on the size smaller dress, they emailed me a copy of my receipt and a printable UPS label to send the other back, and since it was a higher price now than when I originally purchased it, they honored the lower price. So thanks for that, J.Crew! And y'all, the dress is precious on! I can't wait to wear it on Easter Sunday!

The second, I had ordered my groceries from Walmart Online Grocery like I do every week, only to get home and realize they had left out about six items and by my mistake, I'd ordered the wrong type of aftershave balm for Brandon. So, I gave them a call and explained the situation. They immediately refunded me the money for the items I didn't receive from them, as well as the wrong type of aftershave balm; had me come back up to get my six items {that I wasn't charged for}; and while I was there, gave me a $15 gift card for my troubles; and then emailed me a $10 off promotion code to use on my next online grocery order. I was really pleased with their extra efforts to make it right!

And if you've never tried Walmart Online Grocery, seriously y'all, it's the best! I used to be a "Never Walmart" girl, but I can't resist people doing my shopping for me, loading it into my car for free, and the lower prices. It's a win-win all around! {Click here for $10 off your first online order!}

Does anyone have a good spring-y lip gloss they would recommend? I'm in need of something lighter in both the coverage and color department for spring/summer. Brand and price don't matter; just hit me up with what y'all have! ;)

The Champagne Supernova posted a link to this article recently and I was just dying laughing reading it: "8 Things You Think You'll Do With an Hour of Free Time vs. What You Actually Do." Y'all, I was rolling. You have to read it. #momlife for sure!

I'm turning 30 in exactly two weeks. Ummm, what?! How did that happen?! Although I must say, I'm actually excited about another decade. My 20's were good, but I have a feeling my 30's are going to be great. I'll have some fun birthday-related posts in the next two weeks to celebrate because, duh, it's birthday month around here! ;)

And aren't these balloons just the cutest?!

I'm still chugging along with diffusing essential oils in my house, and I even got a little hippie {for me} and rubbed some Thieves on the bottoms of our feet last weekend when we started to feel a little icky. Before Lent started, I ordered Ylang Ylang and can't wait to diffuse it this spring. {I also ordered Joy and Rosemary, too.} And we're still loving our diffuser

Thoughts for Thursday: Life Lately

Happy Thursday, y'all! A good ol' "Life Lately" post for y'all today. Here's a bit about what we've been up to:

+ Dentist Appointments

Both Walker and I recently had dentist appointments, and while his was awesome, mine was less than. I'm still planning to get Invisalign next year to fix my crooked front teeth, but I'm still nervous about it since I'm actually missing a lateral and would have to go with a "dummy" tooth for a few months. I know it's all vanity, but still. Sigh.

+ Enjoying awesome spring-like weather
In Texas, we have about a month and a half of "spring" before our temperatures turn to summer from about May-September, so we try to get out and enjoy our cool evenings with low humidity as much as we can. One of our favorite parks in the area also has restaurants in walking distance, so we've been hitting those up. Drinks on the patio while the kids play? Yes, please!

+ Rodeo Day
Walker's little "school" recently had Rodeo Day, and it was just the cutest thing ever. We are so thankful for his preschool and will definitely miss it this summer! ;)

+ Trying new foods
Knox is definitely my great eater, and that boy loves him some blueberries. And can we please talk about those eyelashes?!

+ Enjoying
We had an Oklahoma Redbud Tree planted outside our kitchen window last year, and it's blooming beautifully! I love looking out of my window and seeing this gorgeous tree blooming! Spring has sprung!

+ Play dates with friends
We were on Spring Break last week and had lots of fun play dates with our friends: The Galleria, The Tubes, a local park, a fun indoor play place, lunch with Brandon, and more!

+ Cuddles with my boys
So beyond thankful for them each and every day and can't believe these precious souls call me "Mommy."

So, while definitely not the most exciting, there's a bit of our real life over here! :)

What's Hap-pinning Wednesday: My Favorite Easter Basket Books

Y'all, I can't believe it's less than a month until Easter! Without sounding too cliché, where did the time go?! Wasn't it just New Year's Day?! Yikes!

Anyway, y'all probably know by now that we {read: I} like to do holidays pretty big around here. I want my boys to look back when they're older and remember that Mommy tried to make the day special and fun -- or so I hope!

Every year, we give our boys an Easter basket filled with goodies, but I also like to fill it with one or two holiday-themed books, which then get put out in a basket in the living room leading up to each holiday. It's fun to grow their collection!

Here are some of my favorite books for the Easter Bunny to bring this Easter:

one || two || three || four

five || six || seven || eight

nine || ten || eleven || twelve

Happy first day of spring, y'all! So finally my favorite season is finally, officially here.

We had a wonderful weekend full of no plans {which turned out to be heavenly} and one of those weekends where I would just smile because it was just good: family time, sunny days and utter contentment. I'm so thankful for my people and I'm definitely missing those 2.5 lovely little days today!

Here's what we were up to:

We had a fun little St. Patrick's Day! It was our first day of the week with absolutely nothing on the agenda and we relished just hanging around the house.

Walker got green milk with his breakfast {regular milk with a few drops of green food coloring}; I dressed them in their best green ensembles {thank goodness we're Baylor Bears and one of our school colors is green!}; Walker and I did a little craft; we ran a few errands and picked up a shamrock-shaped sugar cookie from our local little bakery on the way home.

We had leftovers for supper, and Brandon and I watched "Allied" when the boys were in bed. It was...meh. Good, but I was hoping it would be better.

Walker had his very first soccer experience! He was super into it at first, but after about 20 minutes said, "Okay, guys, I'm done!" Ha! But he did do really well and we were very impressed with the organization. We can't wait to see more of the cat-herding that will happen each week. ;)

The clouds broke Saturday morning and we decided it was high time to get our garden ready for spring. We went to our local mom-and-pop nursery {always a favorite!} and got lots of flowers and plants to make our backyard look pretty. A little butterfly landed on some flowers while Brandon and I were deciding and Walker was just enamored with it.

...but then our boys were just over it, so we headed home.

They had fun playing peek-a-boo while we got things unloaded and Brandon got things planted, and it made my heart melt. I love these sweet brothers!

It was high time for me to renew my library card, so I went while the boys were napping and Brandon was watching March Madness. It was so fabulous to wander the rows and rows of books alone! I chose this book that I've been wanting to read for years, and I'd highly recommend the two books I just finished: "The Magnolia Story" and "Come Home."

The weather was so lovely, so Brandon took the boys out for a walk around the neighborhood so I could get supper ready. We joked that Knox was in his "chariot," but in true toddler fashion, Walker didn't want to ride with his brother and instead pulled his old tricycle out and followed them. ;)

I made this for supper and we both fell asleep on the couch while watching "Dateline" {we're real party animals, let me tell you!}.

We went to church, which was great! Then, we came home and spent as much time outside as we could. I'm telling you, if you ever want to visit Texas, come in late March/early April. I think it's our prettiest, best-weather time of the year.

Knox has been making the funniest "little old man" faces lately and it absolutely cracks us up! He was content to just sit on our little mini trampoline with Brandon and watch the airplanes, while Walker "helped" me pull weeds.

We all took Sunday afternoon naps, which were heavenly. Truthfully, one of my favorite things in the world is a sunny Sunday spent at church and falling asleep with the sun shining into my bedroom. It's the little things. ;) After our fabulous naps, we dropped some stuff off at my in-law's, then came home in time for the Baylor basketball game.

I made homemade breakfast tacos for supper, which were great! I was kind of in a dinner rut and didn't feel like cooking a full meal, but didn't want to eat leftovers, and nothing out sounded good. So breakfast tacos it was: just corn tortillas, scrambled eggs, cheese, refried black beans, sour cream, salsa and avocado, sprinkled with a little Tony's. {Such a great little addition to breakfast tacos -- try it!}

I hope y'all have fabulous weeks!
