Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I'm actually in Canton, Texas right now to go to the big flea market with my mother-in-law, two sisters-in-law and my mother-in-law's best friend. We're making a little weekend out of it {well, Thursday to Saturday at least}. I've never been, so this should be an adventure!

Here are my favorites this week:

Do y'all follow What Kate Wore on Twitter? I'm pretty obsessed with both the website and Twitter account for fashion inspiration from the Duchess of Cambridge. Well, they tweeted earlier this week about a dupe for the Temperley sweater Catherine wore earlier this year at a BBC interview...from Target! You better believe I scooped that dupe sweater up in a heartbeat! It was only $24.99 with a 20% off coupon! Much better than Catherine's, which retailed at $550. ;)

I'm planning to wear it in our Christmas card photos, so I'm hoping it matches well with what I have planned for the boys to wear.

Every year when Brandon shops for Christmas, he orders the majority of my gifts online and has them sent to the house. He knows I'm a snoop, so he puts "Do Not Open, Brittany!" in the "to" line so I'll see this when I get the package from the front door. And every year I just crack up at it!

We have been readying our yard for winter: doing the last fertilizer, mowing, pulling weeds and cleaning up. And sweet Knox just loves to be right there along with Brandon as he's accomplishing it all. I love how he grabs his pretend lawn mower and "mows" right alongside Brandon. So precious!

I am so excited to be included in a Health magazine article about early pregnancy signs (not pregnant!!!), which you can read here! It's so interesting to me how pregnancy "symptoms" can vary from woman to woman and even pregnancy to pregnancy. Did any of y'all have any weird things happen with your body and you just KNEW?

This week was kind of a doozy for me in terms of parenting. With Halloween and preparing to leave for the weekend, plus just a ton of other things I had signed myself up for in addition to my million daily tasks, I was honestly feeling a bit overwhelmed and almost like I was drowning. To be honest, I wasn't fully thrilled with getting away this weekend {even though I knew I needed to} because it just felt like one more "thing" to have to do. But I can honestly say that we, as moms, need to remember to take care of ourselves, too! It was so helpful when I saw that had created a ton of self-care ideas to try in order to maintain some sanity! Whether it's treating yourself to a spa day, attend that yoga class you've always wanted to try but never had the time to go to, or just sitting on your patio and reading a book while the kids nap -- it was a great reminder that we moms need to take care of ourselves, too, so we can take better care of our littles.

Don't forget about the Christmas link-up that Owen, Emily and I are starting on Wednesday! We are so excited to share with y'all our gift ideas and can't wait to see y'all's, too! All you have to do is grab our button {below} and share your gift ideas. Easy as pie!

Linking up with: April, Amanda, Andrea and Katie

  1. No, I have never heard of it, but then again, I don't have Twitter. Should I, haha? Is it a fun social media??? Also, has anyone told you you actually look like Kate?!?!

  2. I love the shirt too--hoping it's as cute in person as it is on the website!! Enjoy your getaway this weekend. You definitely deserve some time away and to just be Brittany!

  3. I hope you have the best time on your weekend trip!! I love Brandon's "do not open" line - such a great idea!!

  4. Happy Friday! Love that top & what your husband puts on packages -- clever!

  5. So funny that Brandon put that on the package. Yesterday G goes "don't look at our credit card until after your birthday"... I mean come on you can't tempt me like that

  6. OMG I need to follow that IG account! I just love Kate Middleton's style - and if there are dupes for great prices?! Extra sold!

  7. Congrats on being in Health magazine! I love how your husband puts that on the label! Super smart idea! Also, just wanted to let you know I tried your Chicken pot pie recipe last week and loved it! I will definitely be making it again soon! :)
