Weekending: Mother's Day Edition

What a wonderful weekend we had celebrating not only Mother's Day, but Knox's first birthday and sweet Knox's dedication at church. It was busy, full of family and fun. Here's a peek into our weekend:

\\ FRIDAY:

+ Major errand-running day for Knox's party. I had to snap this sweet picture of the boys in the buggy in the check-out line at Sam's.

\\ My cousin is a pilot and had a flight into DFW on Friday morning, so we met him for lunch at Corner Bakery.

\\ SATURDAY:

+ We celebrated Knox's first birthday! His actual birthday isn't until next Monday, but we celebrated early since he was being dedicated in church on Sunday and we didn't want my family to have to drive up to Dallas twice in two weekends. I'll have all of the party details on Wednesday, but here's a sneak peek:

+ We had a family dinner at Gloria's with my entire family on Saturday night, followed by a long, hot, hour-long bubble bath for me and then I took a ZzzQuill and called it an early night. I had been up since 4:30 a.m. and I was worn smooth out.

\\ SUNDAY:

+ I woke up to a lovely breakfast and coffee in bed from my sweet boys, along with precious cards (love seeing that adorable toddler handwriting!) and both homemade and store-bought gifts.

Love my new Laura Cox Designs earrings!

+ My parents joined us for church on Sunday, where we publicly dedicated Knox to the Lord, pledging to raise him in the church and praying that he will one day choose Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

Of course, we took a bunch of photos before we left...and I got two semi-good ones. ;)

+ After church, we came home for a few more photos, then everyone ate my homemade lasagna, garlic bread and Caesar salad for a Mother's Day lunch.

+ My family left and the boys took three-hour naps while I wrote thank-you notes, picked up around the house, caught up on laundry and relaxed just a bit.

+ After naps, Brandon filled up the water table and pulled out the sprinkler and let the boys run wild. It's amazing the joy that comes from some water! Then, Brandon cut up a watermelon and the boys were loving eating that outdoors; summer is so close I can taste it!
