What's Hap-pinning Wednesday: Halloween Recap

We had such a fun Halloween this year! Walker is at the perfect age for holidays and just "gets" it all, which made it extra special and extra joyful.

Our boys dressed up as Bob the Builder {Walker} and a very unimpressed, hot lion {Knox}. They were precious!

Both boys' costumes were ridiculously easy, and the only thing I paid for this year was Walker's plaid shirt, which I got from Target! His overalls were free from our little church garage sale site; his hat and Home Depot tool belt were from one of his friends' birthday parties; and I stuck a "Hello, My Name is..." sticker on the front of his overalls. Boom, done! Knox wore the same Halloween costume that Walker wore for his first Halloween two years ago:

I made Walker an early dinner before we went out: PB&J sandwich cut into a pumpkin shape using a pumpkin cookie cutter; got the boys dressed and then my aunt came over to go out with all of us. I made this baked potato soup in the Crock Pot {which was a huge hit} for the adults to enjoy with a glass of wine once the boys were in bed.

Walker went door-to-door, ringing the doorbell {or "ding bell," as he says} and was so sweet, saying, "Trick-or-Treat!" and then "thank you!" after he helped himself to about two handfuls of candy at each house. I took Knox back home after a bit for a bath, bottle and bed, while Brandon and my aunt kept going with Walker.

Brandon said he was so tired at one point that he just sat down in the middle of the sidewalk. Ha! They knew it was time to come home then. ;) Once they got home and we were sorting through his candy, he declared that he "loved ALL DA CANDY" and then told me as I was tucking him in, "Mommy, thank you for the trick-or-treat!" Sweet boy.

And now for some outtakes, because I love them so much:

"Enough with the pictures, Mommy!"

Totally and completely unimpressed. Ha!

Knox yawning, Walker moving and my aunt just giggling at them

I hope y'all had great Halloweens, too!

Linking up with Jenn and Jessi

  1. Awww they look so cute! One thing that is tricky with Halloween costumes on the East Coast is that you never know what the weather is going to be like until the day of Halloween. We've had many Halloweens where it was really cold and then we've had Halloweens where it is super warm. The weather just can never make up its' mind over here.

  2. The 'unimpressed' photo for the win!!! What a bunch of handsome little guys! Looks like y'all had a blast! Hope y'all have a great day!

  3. They are soooo cute! We literally put Lincoln in his costume for about two minutes to take pictures and then changed him and he had a bottle and zonked, lol! I know Walker is about six months or so older than Jackson, and I just love reading all the sweet and fun things he says-I know we have such fun coming and love seeing it through your precious boy.
I also love how different your boys look-it's crazy how each child really is so much their own person!

  4. SO stinking cute!!! Also, you look a lot like your aunt!

  5. Aw, they look so cute! My kids totally get tired of the pictures after so long too lol.

  6. Oh my goodness SO cute!!!! Love both of their costumes!

  7. The boys are beyond darling in their costumes!

  8. What a fun Halloween!!! The buys were SO adorable! That's so funny Walker sat down on the sidewalk at one point - I feel ya!
