Weekending

Happy Monday! We had a slow, lazy weekend and it was much-needed before the craziness the remainder of this month ensues. So let's get to recapping!

-FRIDAY...

+ I had to run some errands in my in-laws' nearby town, so I took the boys over to their house to visit while we were over there. Walker is completely obsessed with their dog, Rocky, and said, after he kept hugging him and kissing him, "Wocky, you're my best friend EVER!"

+ This guy decided to show off and sit for the first time! He can't do it longer than a few seconds at a time, but it's still a sweet milestone he's met. I can't believe he's old enough for it, though. Wasn't he just born yesterday?!

+ Binge-watched a few episodes of "The Crown." I absolutely loved every second of it. Brandon...not so much. ;)

-SATURDAY...

+ Brandon made pancakes for Walker using our Christmas cookie cutters, and the little man was super impressed. Brandon's definitely the breakfast-maker in this household and I love it. I'm not a big breakfast-eater and could have a protein shake (if anything) every morning, but I love that he makes breakfast fun for the kids (and me)!

+ I got a much-needed manicure and pedicure, and blasted Christmas music the entire drive to the nail salon. #noshameinmygame

+ Precious Knox was practically a little baby doll laying on a blanket in the living room, so of course I had to snap a picture.

+ We decided to quit watching that pathetic Baylor game and instead took Walker to Toys 'R' Us to pick something out with some money my grandparents sent him. After a lot {and I do mean a LOT} of perusing, he finally selected this LEGO Duplo set and I'm not sure he's put it down in two days.

+ After keeping the kids up to combat Daylight Saving Time {and dealing with their lovely moods because of it}, Brandon grilled steaks and we watched "Bad Moms." It was so ridiculously inappropriate, but really funny! I laughed out loud in a couple of parts.

-SUNDAY...

+ We were up at 5 a.m. {#becausekids}. Seriously, can we make "Parents Against Daylight Saving Time" a thing?! Walker was so chipper and said, "GOOOOOOOOOD MORNING!"...and we were pouring our second cup of coffee. ;)

+ Since we were all up so early, I had put supper in the Crock Pot; vacuumed the house; did a load of laundry; cleaned the kitchen; and taken a shower all before 8 a.m. Needless to say, we were actually early to church for once. Ha!

+ We watched the Cowboys game {Go Cowboys!} while these two boys were being just precious. Walker grabbed his "Where's Spot?" book and said, "Baby Knox, I'm going to read 'Spot' to you, okay?!" And then Knox placed his hand on Walker's arm and my entire heart just burst into about 5,000 little pieces.

+ The boys and I all took 2+ hour naps, which was amazing after our early wake-up call. We all needed it and with the nasty, cool weather we had outside, it was a perfect day to be cuddled up inside and just rest.

+ We ate supper, got the boys bathed and in bed, and because of this fall back, I was exhausted at 7:30 p.m. since it was so dark outside! I made a cup of peppermint tea and hit the hay early. Maybe there's one good thing about this time change: I'll be so tired so early due to the darkness outside and I'll just go to bed...maybe?! Here's hoping. ;)

  1. I'm kind of glad to know someone else is suffering with the time change and I'm not alone ;-) I bet Walker just dies in Toys R Us I remember it being like Disney World going there when we were kids.

  3. LOVE precious moments between little ones and dogs. I brought our English Bulldog Audrey (he pronounces her name as Audgie) to my mom's last month while my nephew was over and he just wanted to hug all over her (my mom has 2 English Bulldogs and my nephew has 2 English Bulldogs at home). He kept squirting my mom's female English Bulldog with the squirt bottle anytime she started playing rough with Audrey and telling her to be nice to Audrey. Melted my heart!

Jesse is definitely the breakfast maker at our house too lol. His french toast is to die for.

  4. What a fun weekend! Walker is so adorable with Rocky - sounds like y'all need to get him a dog ;) jk jk Okay, so did The Crown release all the episodes for the season!? Even though we were up early from DST, we still managed to walk into church right when it started lol That picture of Walker reading to Knox is just about the sweetest thing ever! Glad y'all had a great weekend and I hope y'all have a great week :)
