What's Hap-pinning Wednesday: 37-Week Pregnancy Update

I'm linking up with Jessi and Jenn today for "What's Hap-'pinning' Wednesday!" Thanks to these lovely ladies, as always, for hosting this linkup!

Well, I'm hoping this is my very last pregnancy update -- fingers crossed -- because I don't know how much bigger I can get! Eeek!

Date: May 4, 2016

How far along: 37 weeks

Total weight gain: 28 pounds (gulp)

Maternity clothes: Oh yes! I borrowed some maternity sundresses from some girlfriends and they have been awesome. (I'm wearing one in the picture above.) I'm also still rocking my favorite maternity yoga pants and the same three T-shirt every day, as well as Brandon's T-shirts because let's be honest, that's all that fits these days. ;)

Miss anything? Not getting up to pee every hour or two during the night; not waddling everywhere I walk; cold turkey sandwiches; sushi; adult beverages; and sleeping on my stomach. I know this will all come to me in a few weeks, but hey, I'm just being honest!

Cravings: Cocoa Krispies cereal, hot fudge sundaes, watermelon and sugar-free peach tea

Movement: When he moves, he moves. Like, we can see little feet, elbows and knees moving! That will always be the coolest/weirdest/most amazing sight to me! He's so very low, so when he moves, it's right on my bladder and I have to go to the bathroom STAT. But, he's not moving as often, which is to be expected since he's running out of room.

Belly button in or out? Still flat

Wedding rings on or off? Officially off. It's getting warm here and I don't want to risk having to have them cut off again like I had to when I just had Walker!

Sleep: Eh, not so great. But I swear it's God and my body preparing me to be up every few hours with a newborn. I get up at least every hour to two hours to pee, and then it takes a while for me to get settled back to sleep.

Best moment of the week: Walker's sweet Mother's Day Out teacher looking at me square in the eyes and saying, "You look so pretty today. Seriously, I mean it. I know you don't feel it, but you look beautiful." Well, folks, that about made me cry. I know it sounds shallow and vain, but it seriously made my week because if I'm being honest, I feel everything but pretty right now: parts of my body are swollen that I didn't even know could swell; I'm exhausted with bags under my eyes; I practically live in the bathroom; and I wear the same outfits day in and day out. So that genuine compliment really made my heart happy.

Exercise: Ha! That's a good question. If trying to tie my tennis shoes by myself, chasing after a 2-year-old and the hilarious act of shaving my legs this pregnant counts as exercise, then YES! ;)

Anything making you queasy or sick: No.

Labor signs: I don't actually feel contractions, but I know I'm making progress because I'm 2.5 cm. dilated, 80% effaced and +1 station. I'm so not sure what to do with this information because I was seriously not this dilated/effaced until they started Pitocin in the hospital when I was induced with Walker! He's also super, super low and I can definitely feel that change.

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, but like it's been this entire pregnancy, I cry at the drop of a hat.

Looking forward to: Meeting him, obviously!

Updates: 21 weeks, 28 weeks, 31 weeks  34 weeks

  1. How sweet of that MDO teacher! It's soo hard to take a compliment at this point I know, but you do look beautiful my dear! I have a feeling I'm going to be like your first pregnancy, I haven't dilated or effaced at all, and I've actually been having some contractions! Wah. We are having the same sleep issues over here, plus I'm up from like 3-4:30 everyday. But honestly I'm grateful because I need to learn to live on less sleep! Almost there, girl!

  2. Ahhh! We are so close! My doctor didn't check my progress this week but is going to next week. Baby girl is also superrrr low, can't even see her face in an ultrasound anymore, so I definitely feel you on the using the bathroom ALL the time. I joke at work and say if you can't find me in my office, try the bathroom! :)

  3. Bahahha! I love the exercise comment! :) How sweet of Walker's teacher! You do look beautiful!

  4. SO exciting!!! Can't believe he's almost here!!

  5. You deserve that compliment because you DO look beautiful!! I bet seeing him move is so crazy but cool at the same time!! Hope you get to meet your sweet boy soon :)

  6. You do look beautiful, my friend!! And I do think your forms of exercise are truly exercise! haha. Hope you get to meet him soon!

  7. Girlfriend, you are looking fabulous!! I can't even imagine how ready/excited you guys are because I'm over here so excited to "meet" your little man!

  8. You look great! I have about the same level of exercising and I'm not pregnant... you are doing great! Shaving legs while pregnant is the worst, right??
