But let's get to our weekending post, shall we? I'm linking up with Biana, per usual, today.
Walker and I had such a super lazy day at the house. It was dreary, drizzly and just an overall yucky day, so we were really low-key and just hung out together all day. It was a really nice change of pace!
That night, our church had Parents Night Out, where you take your kid(s) to the church and they feed them, watch them and play with them while the parents have a date night. I'm so thankful for our church and for this quarterly ministry they do for its members. Anyway, Brandon and I had dinner at Gloria's with our friends Stacy and Kyle, and it was so good to just spend some time with friends who are in the same stage of life as us -- without cutting up food into bite-sized pieces; saying "no" 7,001 times; and actually getting to have adult conversation!
Of course the only picture I managed to get was of Brandon and me while we were waiting for Stacy and Kyle to arrive; please ignore my super swollen face!
My friend Stacy hosted one of her "Yeah!Mama" events, a Baby Bump Brunch for DFW-area moms-to-be at a precious little warehouse in downtown Dallas. Everything was decorated to a "T" and was just as adorable as could be. We had a yummy brunch and mocktails, great conversation and got to take home some awesome swag bags filled with goodies for us and our babies.
While I attended that, Brandon hung out with Walker and took him to Founders Plaza to watch airplanes take off and land. (And all I heard about when I got home was "See UPS truck cargo planes!" Ha!)
After Walker's nap, we went to a local mall to return some things Brandon had purchased online and to get Walker some new tennis shoes. (He just had a major growth spurt and outgrew his shoes -- that he only wore for about a month! Yikes!) Of course, riding the escalator at the mall is always a highlight for the little man, so we did that a couple of times before coming home. ;)
That clearly wore him out, because we went outside to enjoy the (finally sunny) weather and he just laid on the ground super still and quiet for a good while. We couldn't quit laughing!
That evening, I made some more of our favorite blueberry bread (or as Walker calls it, "boobie bread"), and I added smashed bananas to it this time and it was absolutely amazing! Brandon and I watched "The Last Castle" with Robert Redford (such a good movie!) before heading to bed.
We went to church, then came home and Brandon took Walker to a little park near us to play while I got some cleaning and laundry done. Brandon did a bunch of yard work, and we all sat outside to enjoy the absolutely beautiful day!
Brandon and I both snuck in a quick nap while Walker did, and then we spent the afternoon being totally lazy, playing with the little man and getting ready for the week ahead.
I hope y'all had great weekends; I can't wait to read all about them!
