What's Hap-pinning Wednesday: Life Lately

Happy Wednesday, friends! As usual, I'm linking up with Jenn and Jessi for "What's Hap-pinning Wednesday," and today I'm sharing just a bit of our life lately.

+ Walker is continuing swimming lessons, and I'm so proud of the progress he's made! He's much more confident in the water and is doing so well. Of course, he does way better in the water with Brandon than me, but we're getting there. :)

+ Walker's new favorite thing is to "help" me cook and bake, and I think it's so sweet. Aside from grabbing a grater when my back was turned and getting a little gash on his finger a few days ago {nothing that a Mickey Mouse Band-Aid couldn't fix}, he has been loving pretending to cook with bowls, whisks and wooden spoons while I get everything ready. Plus, I'm loving having a little sous chef. ;)

+ My friend Stacy sent me a few pictures {taken by Beckley & Co.} from her son Silas's birthday party last weekend. We were getting so tickled at her son freaking out at the candle and Walker coming over to help himself to blowing it out for him. Oh, my!

And then these two looking like little old men discussing life's issues. Love them both so much!

+ After a full week of rain last week, we finally have gorgeous spring-like weather this week, and I'm so thankful! It's so much easier to entertain the little man and not be cooped up inside. We had a picnic lunch on the back patio on Monday and Walker thought we hit the jackpot. He keeps telling me that we "ate a picnic" and I love how easy he is to please. ;) Note to self: do more picnic lunches while it's not scorching yet!

+ Also on Monday, we went over to my friend Ashley's house -- armed with Sonic slushies -- and enjoyed a beautiful 86* March day outside letting Walker and Caroline play in their water table {of which Walker will now be getting since he enjoyed it so much!} and had dinner at their house. We are loving these longer, warmer days!

+ Ashley made taco salads and this delicious {super easy} dessert that I'm going to recreate next week! I could have eaten that whole pan by myself -- pregnant or not! It was heavenly.

+ Tuesday, we went over to my in-law's to let Walker visit with them and then feed the ducks at their neighborhood lake. Of course Walker loved it and I enjoyed sitting in the sunshine with my mother-in-law while my father-in-law threw bread to the ducks, fish and turtles with Walker.

+ I'm officially 30 weeks pregnant today. It's crazy to me that sweet baby boy #2 will be here in 10 weeks {or less}. I know I've said it before, but this pregnancy has gone by so much faster than my first. Our lives are about to change drastically, so I'm soaking up all the time I can with our only child while I can. I'm hoping he adores being a big brother and I just can't wait to see us with two boys.

I hope y'all have a wonderful day!! xoxo

  3. Props to you for getting Walker into swim lessons, I think it's SO important children learn water safety and how to swim at a young age. One of the best things you can do for them.

    30 weeks, WOW! How exciting!
