Weekending

Happy Monday, friends! We are actually having an extended weekend, because Brandon took the day off today to hang out with us! His brother is getting married in a few weeks and had his Bachelor Party Saturday, which Brandon organized (while traveling for work, whew!), so we are enjoying spending some time with him now that he's home from his work trip and the Bachelor Party.

So let's get to our weekend, shall we? I'm a little low on photos since we were so busy; sorry! ;)

-FRIDAY-
It was yucky weather, so I took Walker to a local indoor play place to burn some energy, then out to lunch at Café Express. We had a super low-key, lazy day at home cleaning, playing and just hanging out!

Brandon's flight was super delayed due to the weather here and where he was coming home from; he was supposed to land at 5:55 p.m. and didn't end up doing so until 8 p.m…after being gone since 1 p.m. on Sunday. So it was a long week for both of us and we ended up going to bed super early.

-SATURDAY-
It was Brandon's younger brother's Bachelor Party, and since both Brandon and his older brother were going and that left the wives at home with their kids, my in-law's offered to help out and give my sister-in-law and me a little break. (Which was so beyond welcomed after a long week with Walker all by myself!) My mother-in-law went over to my sister-in-law's to help with her three kiddos, while I took Walker over to my father-in-law to watch while I got a manicure and pedicure and wandered through Hobby Lobby alone! It was a nice two-hour break!

After Walker's nap, he and I ran some errands, including Target where I found the cutest little Easter Bunny candy dish and filled it with chocolate Cadbury eggs…which may or may not be almost gone. Oops!

I started watching "The White Queen" on Amazon Fire TV and am officially obsessed. So, so good!

-SUNDAY-
Brandon was home by the time Walker and I woke up, and he came home bearing donuts and kolaches! I wasn't expecting him until much later, so it was a nice little surprise.

We were all absolutely exhausted from our crazy weeks and weekends, so we stayed home and got a bunch of stuff done that's on Brandon's growing honey-do-before-baby list and we all took two-hour naps. ;) He did a lot of yard work, and then changed out our ugly builder's-grade kitchen chandelier that had been in our house since we moved in (and I've hated since then):

I like this one so, so much better…and love that the lights don't shine down directly on us as we're eating. (It's the little things…!)

As I was getting supper ready, these two got cozy on the couch to watch "Dumbo," (AKA: Walker's favorite new movie).

After Walker went to bed, Brandon and I enjoyed a delicious supper of grilled steaks, sweet potatoes, baked beans and homemade macaroni and cheese (using this recipe, only I substituted Velveeta for cream cheese and added a touch of truffle oil -- AMAZING). We watched a few episodes of "The White Queen" and called it a night.

We're so excited to have Brandon home with us for a fun day today and have plans to partake in our gorgeous spring weather by eating lunch on a patio somewhere and spending as much time as we can outside!

Have a great day, y'all!
