We still had rain on Friday, so my friend Ashley and I met at the Galleria with our kiddos to let them burn some energy on their indoor playground, and then let them walk around the mall. We had lunch there, followed by Walker getting a little treat, then came home and I got some things done while he took a nap.
We spent the afternoon being complete lazy bums until Brandon came home from work. Even though it was a little maddening being inside after a full week of rain, I'm confident that sometimes we just need slow, lazy weeks to recharge our batteries!
Walker got this sweet Easter book in the mail from my grandparents and spent a few good minutes "reading" it to me...
…and then decided Mommy needed help with her nails. ;) But seriously, I was in the bathroom filing my raggedy nails for a second while he played, and he came in wondering what I was doing. I handed over the fingernail file and he went to work! I was shocked that he even knew what to do, but I guess "monkey see, monkey do," right?
We had a super low-key night at home, with Brandon taking care of Walker all evening so I could get some much-needed rest. I was feeling pretty run-down and exhausted, so he told me to take a bath; he got Walker down; and then we watched "Room" together. (Cue all the sobs and emotions.)
My sweet friend Stacy held one of her monthly Yeah!Mama events, a Mommy & Me Painting and Potting Workshop Saturday morning, so I took Walker to that. He had a ball painting his little clay pot and then planting an aloe vera plant in it! (And I must say, it looks precious on our countertop!)
We came home to Brandon installing landscape lighting on the front of our house (#allthepraisehandemojis), so Walker immediately ran to be outside and "help" his Daddy while I cleaned the house and got caught up on laundry.
The sun finally decided to show itself, hallelujah, and we got out to run a few errands, including interviewing a non-family babysitter for Walker, which is very exciting and nerve-wracking. But, it's time we have someone else other than family (if they're not available) to watch Walker if needed -- and so Brandon and I can have a date night once a month.
We went to church, then came home and rested. After Walker's nap, we ran some more errands and went on a walk, just relishing in the sunshine and enjoying not having anything on the agenda!
I hope y'all have wonderful weeks!
