Thoughts for Thursday: My Favorite Children's Books

It seems like everyone I know is either pregnant {including me!} or just had a baby; baby shower/sprinkle season is in full-force around these parts!

One of my favorite gifts to give -- along with something the mama registered for -- is a book. When I was pregnant, I was given a "Books and Baby Shower" party, and everyone was asked to bring their favorite children's book with them to the shower. It was so special to me to see what people read to their children; what people loved reading when they were little; and what people's favorite children's book was. We received many of these books at that shower and still read them to Walker to this day.

Here are my favorite children's books; I love popping these in the gift bag for the mama-to-be to read to her sweet baby {or babies}!

What about you? What are your favorite, must-have children's books? Do y'all ever give books in addition to shower gifts?

  2. What a good selection! One of my most favorite times of the day is sitting down with my 19-month-old to read a book...or 2 or 3...before bed. Have you read the "God Bless..." books by Hannah Hall? We have the first one (God Bless You and Good Night) and the Christmas and Fall ones. My son (and I!) LOVE them. Here's the link to her books if you are interested, but I think we actually found them all at Sam's!: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=dp_byline_sr_book_1?ie=UTF8&text=Hannah+Hall&search-alias=books&field-author=Hannah+Hall&sort=relevancerank

  4. These are great. I did something similar at my shower. Guests were asked to bring a book instead of a card. Right now my daughter's favorite book is "Can I Play Too?" She thinks its hilarious. We read it every night. Now I'm tired of it but I don't think she ever will be, ha.
