Friday!

Happy Friday, y'all! Let's get to it!

-ONE-
Okay, let me be honest: "The Real Housewives of Potomac?" Not a fan at all! Jenn was right: how on Earth these women are claiming to be so wealthy, yet have kitchens that haven't been updated since 1987 is beyond me. And trust me, you can have money and not have the nicest things {the whole "money talks, wealth whispers" adage} but I'm thinking these ladies are all talk and owe more money to American Express than Tori Spelling.

-TWO-
I'm planning a whole post of my must-have winter products next week, but allow me to tell you my favorite cheapie of all time: Vaseline. I know, groundbreaking and revolutionary, right? ;) But seriously, this cold winter and the fact that I wash my hands 4,002 times a day {between changing diapers and #germs}, my hands are cracking, bleeding and so dry they hurt. Brandon pulled out our giant tub of it the other day when his hands were dry and now I slather it on after every hand wash. Yes, it's greasy, but it's the only moisturizer that's cutting it for me these days.

And yes, because I'm crazy and go overboard on everything, I totally ordered three 13 oz. jars from Amazon the other day and have stashed them in our medicine cabinet. Ha!

-THREE-
I really want to order a new robe for the hospital when the baby is born. I did this with Walker and have worn the heck out of it, so I think I deserve a new one, don't you?! I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on it since it will be covered in spit-up in no time, so I found this cute one at Target and am thinking I need to buy it. It's such a fun pattern, and for a May baby, I love the bright colors!

-FOUR-
Thank y'all for your sweet comments on Walker's birthday party post earlier this week! I'm still really in denial that this time next week, he'll officially be two years old. Wahhh! He's getting to be really funny and says things that crack Brandon and me up. His newest things are quickly telling us, "Thank you, Walker" if we don't tell him "thank you," fast enough, or "Bless you, Walker," if we don't say "bless you" immediately after he sneezes. And let's not mention the fact that he now repeats, "Dad gummit" whenever he does something wrong or drops something. {That's totally from me, and I know it could be a lot worse!}

Yesterday, my friend Ashley and I took her daughter Caroline and Walker to a local play place, and then to have pancakes afterward. As we were eating brunch, I asked Walker, "Who is your girlfriend?" and Caroline quickly yelled, "MEEEEEE!" Ashley and I laughed so hard we cried. It's true what they say: out of the mouths of babes.

-FIVE-
I'm trying not to spend too much money on maternity clothes this go-round, simply because I already have a lot of them, and quite honestly because I'm one of those women who despise them, other than the maternity leggings and the demi-panel jeans. But empire waists with bows around them? Ugh, no thank you. {Would I wear that not pregnant? No! Come on, maternity clothes makers! Get it together!} ANYWAY! I had a dress like this when I was pregnant with Walker and wore it seriously once a week to work and on Sundays to church. Needless to say, I got my wear out of it!

But now that I'm in the market for a new one, I can't find one in my size anywhere! If y'all see one in a small, will you let me know?! This girl is desperate! :)

I hope y'all have great weekends!

  1. I haven't watched an episode of the Real Housewives of Potomac yet and I am so scared to. It's the area where I grew up and I am terrified of how things are being portrayed. I have not heard anything good! You'll have to start a Walker Says post! Some of the things that come out of my 2 year olds mouth have me laughing so hard I cry!

  2. I just blogged about the RHWP!! I watched it last night and had the same response. Why do they have terrible kitchens? Why are they wearing a humongous tory burch logo tote bag? Its a little weird.

  3. I haven’t even heard about the Potomac season! Will have to check that out and catch up on the drama! Have you checked out Asos Maternity? I’ve had some friends that found great pieces there!

  4. Vaseline is totally a winter product, shoot I use it year round for chapstick. The picture of the two littles playing is way too cute.

  5. I have found out SO quickly that I do not like maternity clothes at all! I know I am lucky since this is my first and I can still fit in some of my jeans but I am with you I don't want to spend money on it either! Being pregnant has made alllll of my skin dry, it is so awful, I would like to take a bath in Vaseline! Haha!

  6. I watched the first episode of the Potomac season and had the EXACT same thought about the kitchens. What in the world?! Plus they were just rude to one another. With maternity clothes, I had a lot of luck with Asos - and they have free shipping and free returns. Happy Friday!!

  7. I haven't watched RHOP yet but I haven't heard anything positive! Maybe it will be like the other DC one and get canceled after the first season. My hands crack & bleed right now so bad too, vaseline is the best! Definitely order yourself that robe, you deserve it!

  14. Girl, if you find that dress in a small LET ME KNOW TOO! I ended up ordering the medium because I wanted it so bad and thought "maybe it will work!" and just, no. It was huge!! I told myself I was NOT going to watch the Potomac Housewives but of course a rerun was on at the exact time I had nothing left to watch on my snow day so I kept in on in the background while I was cleaning and I hated it! (Thank goodness because I really don't have the time to add another show to my line up, lol). I thought the same thing about all of their houses!! For how big they talk I would have expected them to be much grander!

  17. My favorite maternity dresses this time around have been the old navy swing dresses because you don't have to get maternity since they're loose, so I'm hoping they'll continue to get use after! (And they're short enough to show off just a little leg, so I don't feel all maternity frumpy!) I feel like I've seen the fitted style in solids and stripes in target maternity section lately!
