Weekending + SURPRISE!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a restful, relaxing weekend. We definitely did!

As I mentioned on Friday, we took our family portraits on Saturday. They turned out great! But this one is definitely my favorite:

That's right! I've been keeping a pretty big secret from y'all! {And boy, was it difficult! And yes, this is why Walker is moving into a big-boy room!}

We are so excited to welcome baby #2 around May 23, 2016. We are so beyond thankful for this precious gift from God. While it was a little bit of a surprise to us, it definitely wasn't to Him. I'll do a full post on how I'm feeling/Walker's big-boy room/etc. soon, and I'll also share my {other} favorites from our family portrait session tomorrow. Special thanks to my sweet friend Liz for taking these for us and helping us share our news!

Moving on to Weekending things, I can't let this post publish without mentioning the horrific attacks in Paris on Friday. The pure evil and hatred in those attackers' hearts and minds breaks my heart, as does thinking about the parents who have to say goodbye to children; kids who will go to bed without a mom or dad; and those who don't yet know if their family members are still alive. Our prayers are with you, Paris.

Our eyes were completely glued to the TV all Friday afternoon and evening. We just couldn't believe what we were seeing. Our hearts just broke.

When Brandon got home, we both agreed we needed a little "happy" to break the somber mood in our house, so we got down our Christmas decorations from the attic and set up our Christmas tree while changing the channel to a recorded "Christmas Vacation." Hearing Walker say, "Whoa! Really, really…LIGHTS!" made it all worth it.

The rest of our weekend was really low-key, which was just what we needed.

I can't wait to read about your weekends, and I can't wait to share our family portraits with you tomorrow!
