Happy Friday, y'all!

We finished "Friday Night Lights" this week, and I'm so sad! Seriously, I think it might be my new favorite series I've ever watched. In the end, I loved me some Tim Riggins, Coach Taylor and Tami Taylor the most. Julie Taylor drove me absolutely crazy! As my Mom said, "She needs a spanking!"

Since that's over, do any of y'all have recommendations for a TV show that's already finished {or nearing the end} that we can binge on next? We've already watched "Parenthood" and are pretty open to anything. I've heard we should start "Nashville," but I'm not sure Brandon would be that into it…although he loved him some Tami Taylor. ;)

We are taking our Christmas card portraits tomorrow, and I can't wait to share them with y'all! Here's my outfit inspiration for our family portraits {minus the shoes}:

Thank you, Pinterest!

You can read my post on what to wear in family Christmas card photos here

I was a no-reply blogger! Gasp! Thanks to Google+, my comments on blogs became no-reply. After weeks of trying to fix it, it finally worked for me on Tuesday night. {And I used the handy tutorial on Jessi's blog, found right here. Thank you, Jessi!}

Brandon and I are going to New York City to celebrate his 30th birthday next month, and I'm so excited! It will be a nice kid-free vacation and I'm definitely looking forward to spending one-on-one time with Brandon for a few days and seeing the city at Christmastime.

That said, do any of y'all have any MUST-DO things to see and/or places we MUST EAT? We have both been to the Big Apple before multiple times, but never together. We're already planning to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and have a couple of reservations made at recommended restaurants, but I'd love to hear your thoughts!

And of course, some funnies to finish off this week with:

  1. Ahhh so so sad when FNL ended! Nashville really is great! My boyfriend really likes it and he isn't even a country fan!

  2. Love your outfit inspiration for your photos! Can't wait to see them!!
Do you guys like soup dumplings? There is the best place called Joe's Shanghai that has soup dumplings--if you've never had them you should go and try them! SOOOO good!
    Happy weekend!

  3. I love Nashville! ...And your outfit inspiration for your photos. I am so jealous that you'll be in New York for Christmas. It's so magical! I saw that show when I lived there and it was fun. Have a great weekend lady! xo

  4. That sounds like an awesome way to celebrate a 30th birthday! I've often thought about how many bobby pins I've lost over the years...I mean, it's not like they ever really break, occasionally they get bent out of shape and I throw out one....but what about the other 49 in the package!?!?

  5. Cant wait to see how your pictures turn out! Nd yay for your NYC vacation - you guys are going to have the most amazing time! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  6. Right now we've been binge watching The Office. I saw it when it came out in high school, but with being in the working world is making it so much more funny!! Can't wait to see how your pictures turn out - love your outfit!

  7. WE loved FNL!! I live in the town they filmed the Highschool and football field shots and I was in an extra in it!! (first season!)
We also enjoyed WEEDS and Breaking Bad. WE JUST started Walking Dead...

  8. I never watched Friday Night Lights! I have to binge watch it on Netflix's! Thanks for the reminder about Xmas portraits! I must send out a Xmas card this year!! Have a great time in the Big Apple!!! If you love hot chocolate - the best place is Max Brenners in Union Square and if you LOVE Italian food - check out Eatly! =)

Have a great weekend! Melanie | Toots + Dill

  9. Haha everyone always calls at nap time, and I seriously lose bobby pins all the time! I bought two huge packs this time last year, and suddenly I can only find a handful. That outfit will be very cute for family portraits :)

  10. New York at Christmas time is absolutely amazing! I definitely would take in the whole spirit and visit everything that has to do with Christmas such as the tree at the Rockfeller Plaza (a good photo op)
Sons of Anarchy is one of the best series I have ever watched along with Breaking Bad if that is your type of series, but Nashville is so so good!

  11. I was SO sad when I finished Friday Night Lights – I wish it could go on forever! I’m saving Parenthood for after the holidays – for now I’d suggest all these great Christmas movies that are on! Really love your outfit inspiration!

  12. Yes! That last ecard - so true. I'll finally sit to relax or I'll put the kids down for a nap and people will call! Hahaha! How fun that you're going to NY! EEK!
