What's Happ-"pinning" Wednesday

Hey y'all! I'm back for another round of "What's Happ-'pinning' Wednesday" with Jessi and Jenn.

My little sidekick and I have been having a ton of fun lately: from continuing his once-a-week Mother's Day Out; to Gymboree classes; to park dates; to playdates with kiddos of my college friends and new friends, it's been a good last week!

As if our obsession with "Friday Night Lights" isn't enough, I started watching "Gilmore Girls" while Brandon was out of town on business for two nights last week. I love it and am not quite sure why I never watched it when it was on TV. Thank goodness for Netflix and Amazon Fire!

I'm such a go-er and a do-er that sometimes I forget to take "me" time during the day when Walker naps. I'm so thankful he typically takes a 2+ hour afternoon nap, so I'm able to get laundry done, clean up around the house, pay bills, etc. But, sometimes I forget to just sit and either blog myself, catch up on blogs, watch one of my DVR'd shows, or even nap on a few days of the week when he lays down. For some reason, I kept telling myself that I shouldn't do that and I ended up absolutely exhausted {mentally and physically} by the time Walker went to bed.

So, I've been really trying to make it a priority this week to slow down a couple days a week when Walker naps. Whether it's reading blogs; calling my friends to chat while their littles are down, too; reading; or watching a DVR'd show, I'm making myself a priority, too! :) When mama's happy, everyone's happy!

I'm so happy football is back! It was a long seven months without it, but I'm loving hearing it on TV in the background on Saturdays and Sundays. {And Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays…ha!} We got a little snap of fall over the weekend and that, coupled with the sound of football on TV, made for some good weekend naps. ;)

I made one of the yummiest, easiest, {ugliest} Crock Pot meals ever the other day: Angel Chicken. Seriously, y'all, the ugliest dishes are always the best, and this one didn't disappoint. Brandon and Walker even gobbled it up! I'll definitely be adding this to the rotation.

PS: It's not too late to enter my giveaway!

I can't wait to hear what's "happ-'pinning'" with you guys! Happy Wednesday!

  2. Love all the fun that you guys are having and that you're getting in some "me" time too! Having a show to binge watch is the best and I completely agree - the not so pretty meals always taste beyond the best.

  3. Are we the same person when it comes to tv? I swear I just finished rewatching Gilmore Girls on Netflix (I never saw the last season) and Jared & I binge watched FNL over the summer! So glad you're taking some time for yourself, that's so important!

  4. I used to LOVE Gilmore Girls--it's such a great show. Do you watch the good wife? One of the main characters on that show was on Gilmore Girls as Rory's boyfriend. It took me like 4 seasons to realize that haha.
Good for you for taking time to slow down and connect with whatever or whoever you need to connect with--it's important!
Thanks for linking up with us--new follower here :)

  7. I love that GG is on Netflix. I did watch it when it was on TV (Rory and I were the same age, so we hit all the life milestones together), and love revisiting it. I was in Vegas for work last week and it was so nice to throw on an episode while decompressing after a long day.
