Weekending: Long Labor Day Edition

Happy Monday! I hope y'all had a great long Labor Day weekend! I'm linking up with Biana and Meghan today for a long Labor Day edition of "Weekending."

Walker and I met our friends for Toddler Time at our local library, and we ventured from there to Chick-fil-A for lunch. Brandon had a half-day at work, so I couldn't handle it anymore and had him help me get my fall decorations out of the attic. The start of September and the start of college football season had me pining for fall, so I bit the bullet and did it…and I'm so glad I did! {And the irony that we were sweating bullets while getting this stuff out of our attic is not lost on me!}

Brandon made us "brinner" = breakfast for dinner! He made chocolate chip pancakes, cheesy scrambled eggs and bacon. It was so yummy!

After we put Walker down for the night, we watched the Baylor game {of which nearly gave me a heart attack} and went to bed pretty early.

We were complete lazy bums all Saturday morning; it was wonderful!

We went to a 2nd birthday party for our across-the-street neighbors' kiddo, and then everyone came home and took a nap…except me. Seriously, even the cat was napping in the chair in our bedroom. For some reason, I couldn't fall asleep! Bummer!

We ventured over to my in-law's Saturday evening for margaritas and dinner, and of course to let the cousins play!

Walker found my father-in-law's Mississippi State cap and decided he absolutely had to eat his dinner with them on. We're going to have to talk about that, little buddy! ;)

My brother-in-law, Jeff, kept bouncing Walker and his daughter, Ellie Kate, and these kiddos kept wanting to do it over. And over. And over. And over again. Poor Jeff!

Brandon had been feeling a little under the weather, so he made a quick, early-morning run to the doctor to get a steroid shot. After a nap, the shot and some medicine, he was feeling better, thank goodness. {Why is it when men get sick the world is ending?! ;)}

We took Walker to our neighborhood pool to swim one final time before they closed for the season. Of course, our little water-loving boy loved it and had quite the time leaving!

Brandon grilled chicken and corn on the cob, and I made sweet potatoes and brownies for dinner, and we caught up on some "Friday Night Lights" {what else?} after putting Walker down for the night.

Labor Day is the best! We loved having Brandon home with us for a long weekend, that's for sure! We didn't do much at all: played with the little man, cleaned things we hadn't in awhile, worked out and lounged around.

I decided to make my own version of my favorite Sonic drink: a water with lemon and mint. {Seriously, if you haven't ordered that from Sonic, you need to…stat! I've gotten so many of my friends and my husband hooked on this tasty drink.} Anyway, I couldn't justify spending $1 on this every day when I could just make it at home with the mint I'm growing in my little herb garden.

I filled the bottom of my pitcher with mint leaves, filled it up with filtered water and put it in the fridge to infuse for the morning. I was out of lime, but if I had it, I would squeeze the juice of one lime in, too. It's so good and makes me way more apt to drink water than I normally am. {And I'm not spending $30 a month on something I can make at home!}

Hope y'all had a lovely weekend, too!
