Friday!

Happy Friday! So glad the weekend is here!

-ONE-
I had a friend make the yummiest homemade lasagna a couple of years ago, and when we were leaving her house, I asked her for the recipe. I decided to make it this week since I hadn't in a while, and oh my gosh, I don't know why I hadn't made it in so long!

The best part about this lasagna {other than the fact that it's ridiculously easy and yummy} is that you make it and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight, then just pop it in the oven the next evening! I made it Sunday night for us to have Monday night, and let me tell you: there is nothing better than just popping something in the oven with absolutely zero prep work…especially on a Monday. Here's her recipe if you're interested:

Speaking of cooking, my little sidekick decided to help me make brownies the other night, and it was the cutest thing ever. He just wanted to "tir" {translated: "stir"} them over and over and over again. And yes, he had a little taste. ;)

-THREE-
My aunt held her weekly Open House for her company, Hurley House, on Wednesday! I drove out to Fort Worth to attend since Walker was at Mother's Day Out -- and I had the best time. If you're local, definitely pop by on Wednesday from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. {Find out more on her blog here} or use her for your catering needs. We are personally huge fans of her cakes, sparkle sandwich cookies, brownies, salted brown butter Rice Krispie Treats, and Brandon is obsessed with her granola.

-FOUR-
I know flare jeans are making a comeback, but I just…can't. I'm not exactly the tallest person {5'6''} and I feel like these make me look short and stumpy.

I also feel like I should have saved all my clothes from junior high because I keep seeing them in the stores and thinking, "Oh, no!" I mean, those Mia clogs; Doc Martens; plaid shirts {although I can get onboard this trend!}; these flare jeans…

What are y'all's thoughts?

-FIVE-
Brandon and I love watching "Fixer Upper" and I think because we both went to Baylor and they're set in Waco, we love it even more! Ever since I saw this bedroom on Season 2, I'm dying for those window panes above the bed!

We have a funky large space in our bedroom where I think these would be perfect, along with Joanna's signature Magnolia Wreath in the center. Does anyone have any idea where I can find these?!

  2. Oh my gosh, we LOVE fixer upper! It is our favorite and I love their work :)
I'm actually so upset that I don't have all of my old flares. I will only commit to wearing them again with super high heels. Like you, I am 5'6" and I don't want to look frumpy.
    Have a great weekend!

  4. I keep hearing great things about Fixer Upper! I used to LOVE my flare jeans in college -- I had a great pair from AG. Sadly, I made them into cut-offs a few years ago :)

  6. That picture of Walker making brownies is so cute! I am not liking any of the current clothing trends either! I keep finding crop tops everywhere where I live! As well as lots of boho/hippie type clothing. My mom and I really like Fixer Upper! I really like their style. Have a great weekend!

  10. Check out Craigslist for those frames! I stumbled across someone that was selling windows for real cheap! But it's one of those "right place at the right time" things.... But that room is such a pretty look! Hope you all are having a great weekend! Thanks for linking up with us at H54F!
