Weekending

It's Monday again! How did the weekend go by so quickly? Linking up with Biana and Meghan for Weekending.

-FRIDAY-
Since I'm working five days a week until my last day next Friday -- and Brandon has half days in the summer -- I left him with a little "honey-do" list, which included going to the grocery store for me. And not only did he do that, he did some laundry for me, too! It was so nice to come home and not have to do those two things.

I spent the evening cleaning the house and he and I watched an episode of "The Astronaut Wives Club" together after Walker went to bed. Riveting Friday night, I tell ya!

-SATURDAY-
We had a super lazy Saturday morning, as evidenced by this photo. It was glorious.

Walker decided to try his downward dog in his toy baskets...as one does.

That afternoon, we took a meal over to my in-law's since my mother-in-law just had surgery on her hand and cooking wasn't quite on her agenda!

I helped her wash and dry her hair and just visited with her while Walker, Brandon and my father-in-law cooled off in the pool.

After swimming for nearly two hours in the hot Texas heat, Walker fell asleep not even two minutes into our drive home.

That evening, Brandon ground up some coffee beans for us to have yummy coffee for the week. Last week, he came home with a monster new coffee maker {and a grinder} since our Keurig was starting to bite the dust. His new obsession is coffee, so of course we have some super yummy beans right now from our favorite local coffee shop. And yes, my house smells heavenly!

Walker ate what I like to call, "Childhood in a Bowl" = AKA Spaghetti O's. Of course, he loves them. {I was not feeling cooking that night, so Spaghetti O's it was. #worldsmostokayestmom}

-SUNDAY-
Brandon woke me up around 3 a.m. to tell me he was freezing and had the chills. I felt his forehead and it was blazing, so needless to say, he did not feel well. {And of course, then proceeds to tell me he has been feeling like this for the past two days! Men!} So, we stayed home from church and I played nurse all day.

I made him and Walker my new favorite smoothie, which is so easy, yummy and good for you! It's great after working out, for babies who are picky and don't want to eat fruits/vegetables or just in general.

All you do is blend together: ice cubes, 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 banana, 1 apple, 1/2 orange, 5 strawberries and two handfuls of baby spinach. It's so good!

That morning, I decided that I was tired of looking at my body in the mirror and being unhappy with it, so I worked out for the first time in seriously about a year. I kept telling myself, "Nothing changes if nothing changes." {I think I might be dead and my muscles are so sore. BUT it felt great to work out again and I'm looking forward to continuing this trend.}

We didn't do much for the rest of the day: we all took good naps, Walker played in his little plastic pool in the backyard, and I made an awesome salad for supper. Pretty boring, right?

I hope y'all have a great week!

  1. Nothing beats the smell of freshly ground coffee in the morning. SO much better than buying preground beans!
