Happy Monday! Can you believe it's the first one of August? I truly can't believe August is already here; weren't we just celebrating Memorial Day?! Anyway, let's get to it! I'm linking up with Biana and Meghan today, per usual, for Weekending.

Sadly, my Fridays off from work have ended and I'm back to five days a week in the office until my last day on Aug. 21. It's gonna be a long three weeks!

Walker was awesome and decided he wanted to sleep in until 7 a.m., and for this mama who is usually wide awake with her mini at 6:30 a.m., I gladly took the extra 30 minutes!

We started the day by going to a nearby park with some new friends, and then hit up the grocery store on the way home.

Walker took an awesome two-hour nap, and then we went to the pediatrician for his 18-month check-up. Little man is doing awesome and is in the 85th percentile for both his height and weight, and he took his vaccination like a champ! {And I'm thrilled for no more shots -- other than flu shots -- until he's four! Woo hoo!}

After his appointment, we decided to grab an ice cream at Dairy Queen on the way home. This little man was super pumped about his first trip to DQ!

And please excuse my lack of make-up. We have reached the point in the year in Texas where it's too dang hot to do anything outside practically and wearing make-up that sweats off the second I walk out the door is just not on my agenda.

Brandon came home from his business trip and grilled us steaks and corn on the cob, and he and I watched "The Right Stuff" before calling it a night.

We had a very lazy morning, followed by swimming at my in-law's. Our kitchen faucet started leaking, so Brandon replaced it with one that I love! Thankful for this handy man.

I finally got my hands on the goodies my mother-in-law brought me back from Waco and Canton, and I love them! She sent me the below pictures on Friday and I was in Coke crate heaven. ;)

When we got home from her house, I got busy trying to find places for my new goodies!

I used one with larger openings on my coffee table:

And the galvanized metal milk crate from Spice in Waco on Brandon's bedside table to house all the junk that accumulates over there: remote controls, books, glasses, etc.

She got me one more Coke crate and I think I'm going to save that for Walker's big-boy room one day.

Walker again surprised us by sleeping in -- until 8 a.m.! Brandon had already gotten up and made us a yummy breakfast, we had eaten, I finished my coffee and unloaded the dishwasher...and he was still asleep. I told Brandon, "I hope you know, this is the latest our child has slept in IN HIS LIFE." It was glorious.

These two cuties cuddled in our bed and watched "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" while I started getting ready for church...and proceeded to sing, "Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog" over and over and over and over in my head.

We went to church, came home for a quick lunch, and then practiced letters and numbers with Walker before he took the world's shortest nap. I was so tired, so Brandon told me to sleep while he took Walker out to DFW Airport's Founders Plaza and then to Smoothie King. It was the best 1.5 hours I could have asked for. Ha!

We had a super low-key rest of our afternoon, had a home-cooked meal and got ready for the week. Only two more Mondays after this one in the office for me; can't wait!

  1. Three weeks will pass by in no time! So glad you're going to be able to stay at home with Walker!
