Friday: First One for August

Happy Friday! I still can't quite believe we've made it through the first week of August, can you? With temperatures supposedly reaching 104-105* this weekend, we have big plans to lay low, keep cool and relax.

-ONE-
I made it through working five days a week again! Even though it will only be for two more weeks, going from working four days to five days a week has been a big adjustment. Truthfully, I feel a little in limbo with that change and then the big change coming of staying home in two weeks, so I'm really ready to get on a schedule that works for us and feel a bit more settled.

-TWO-
After reading Christina's blog, I purchased Parsley Plus as an organic, non-toxic way to clean our kitchen and bathrooms. She said it smelled good, and she wasn't kidding. It smells SO amazing and I love that it's free of harmful fumes. Seriously, pick some up; you can't beat the $3+ price tag!

-THREE-
I am currently on the hunt for a camel-colored cardigan {like this} to wear this fall...but that isn't $100+! If y'all see any, would you let me know?

Also, as an aside, I'm loving this girl's blog. And yes, I'm sure I'm super late to the party, but she has great outfit inspiration!

-FOUR-
Speaking of being late to the party, I finally bit the bullet and bought the J. Crew Quilted Puffer Vest I've been wanting for seriously about two years. I found mine at J. Crew Factory {here} for $86 as opposed to J. Crew for $138 {here}. I can't wait to wear it this fall and winter!

-FIVE-
So, we have officially reached a new stage in our parenting:

Yup.

I definitely wasn't planning on starting this this early at all, but Walker has been coming to us when he goes #2 in his pants and telling us. So, we know he's aware at least that it doesn't feel good. He actually did this in our pediatrician's office last week, and she told us to go ahead and order a potty {I ordered this one} and some books {I ordered this one and this one was passed down from my brothers}, and just introduce him to it; let him see it, sit on it and get used to the idea.

I realize it won't be a while before he's actually potty trained, but it's a step in that direction!

  1. I LOVE J. Crew factory... I hardly ever shop at regular J. Crew anymore! I saw some camel colored cardigans at Anne Taylor Loft last week. Not sure if they have any online though, I haven't checked. They are having a 60% off sale right now I think so it may be worth checking out!! Happy Friday lady :)

  5. Eeek – the weather has been too too hot this week. A camel colored cardigan is a key item for fall – I think I need a new one too. Good luck with the potty training!

  6. So you and my best friend had the same J Crew puffer struggle. She asked for it for Christmas for like two years in a row and finally bought it for herself last year. Sometimes you get the age where you can just buy nice things for yourself :-)

  7. Oh, potty training! Going through that with our youngest right now, too.

Thanks for the referral to that girl's blog. I LOVE that outfit -- sigh...is it fall, yet?

  9. Stopping by from H54F! I am totally with you on #1. I usually work 4 days a week, so when I have to work all five days it's a killer! Hang in there!
