Happy June 1! I'm so excited this month is finally here after a May that felt like it dragged on forever. Between the constant rain and flooding, a ton of change at work and Walker getting sick on Thursday, I was quite glad to usher that month right out the door!

All that to say, I'm linking up with Biana and Meghan today for a photo-heavy "Weekending!"

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that Walker was diagnosed with the dreaded Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease on Thursday afternoon, with his fever spiking to 103.7* in the doctor's office - which scared the ever-living daylights out of me.

Anyway, he spent Friday cozied up and comfortable, basically watching the Disney Junior channel and napping all day long.

Please ignore how absolutely disgusting I look in this picture. I was just documenting it because my child who never, ever sits still only wanted to sit on my lap Thursday afternoon. If I dared to get up, he started crying. I happily obliged in the extra cuddle time!

The crappy thing about Hand, Foot and Mouth is that you can't do a dang thing for it, other than alternate Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen for the fever, and mix some Maalox and Benadryl together to help the ulcers in their mouth and allow them to sleep and eat better.

If I could sum up our weekend in one picture, this would be it:

We had another rainy day, so Brandon spent the morning changing all of our standard light switches in the house to the decorator light switches, which I love! It really makes a huge difference that I totally didn't expect.

We did a couple other home improvement projects while Walker napped, including ordering a new back door with pane-less fiberglass - something I have been wanting to do for a while! The only thing we have left to do to completely update our house is to get new carpet in the bedrooms {the only place we have carpet in the house} and we will be done. Once that's all said and done, I'll give y'all a before and after tour of the house. It is crazy to look back and see everything we've done over a three-year timeframe!

We didn't take Walker to church for obvious reasons, even though he woke up fever-free. Our children's director at church emailed and said that four other kids were diagnosed with Hand, Foot and Mouth so we most certainly weren't going to risk that!

We had our first sunny, beautiful, no-threat-of-any-rain day in seriously over a month {no lie}, so I took Walker out in his car around the neighborhood while Brandon and his friend Brandon went to the Byron Nelson golf tournament.

I took this picture to send to Brandon, showing him that Walker was actually eating "real" food for the first time in three days, and Brandon texted me back that he looked like a food connoisseur holding the fork up like that. Ha!

Later, I took him to get a summer haircut, because as you can see above, his hair was out of control. It's a little shorter than I would like, but it will be cool for summer and it's just hair - it grows!

Once Brandon got home from the golf tournament, we blew up Walker's new pool I found at Target. He didn't want to get in at first without Brandon in there, but once he got used to it, he LOVED playing in it and splashing around. I, on the other hand, sat in a lawn chair with a glass of wine and my camera, thankyouverymuch. #worldsmostokayestmom

Seeing these two together just melts my heart! I love my boys!

I hope y'all have a great week! It's our last week of school and I am beyond excited about that! Next Friday starts my summer schedule {Fridays off} and we have lots of fun, exciting things in the next two months! I can't wait

  1. My Sunday looked much the same way. Except, my husband was in boots and jeans (bless his heart) playing in the sprinkler with our daughter while I took pictures and drank a summer shandy :) It's my favorite way to close out a weekend!

  2. How fun is that pool!? I want one haha! Can't wait to see the house pictures!

  3. So glad he is feeling so much better! Also, best hashtag, cracks me up!! I think I need to use that hashtag a lot! Oh and I might have to get my husband to switch out switches. It's such a small change that can make a big impact.

  4. Love your hubby in the kiddie pool! So adorable!

And H-F-M disease was so awful when my kid was around that age. They are so miserable!

HE DOES LOOK LIKE A FOOD CRITIC! Holding up the fork like, and as you can see - I have licked this clean - hence the meal is SUPERB!
