Weekending: Mother's Day Edition

Linking up with Biana and Meghan for a photo-heavy Weekending post!

We had a last-minute change of plans on Thursday and decided to go to my parents' house for Mother's Day weekend. I quickly took the day off - and Brandon took a half day - so we could make the four-hour trip down. I cleaned and packed like a mad woman on Thursday night, and once Brandon got home after lunch, we were off!

Walker did so great on the trip down, many thanks in part to the Benadryl I gave him for his nose that was running like a faucet and Fisher Price learning apps on the iPad!

Once we got there, we enjoyed spending so much time with my family over yummy hamburgers my Dad grilled. Walker decided to share his Cheerios with Uncle Parker {my brother}.

My Dad and sister took Walker out for his very first ride on the jet ski! They went super slow, and Walker absolutely loved it. He kept saying, "Vroom vroom!" and my Dad said he was clapping and so excited.

Brandon took him out, too, and contrary to his facial expression, he was loving life. He even dozed off a couple times! Ha!

After the jet ski rides, my sister took him onto the little "beach" to play...

...and after getting cleaned up, had a little snack.

We had such a lazy, slow day. We started out with breakfast and coffee with my mom on the screened porch, just catching up and enjoying the view. {I seriously miss pine trees!}

That afternoon, we went to visit one of my best friends, Lindsey, who recently had a baby! We enjoyed meeting sweet Austin and seeing their new house.

When we got back, we enjoyed an amazingly beautiful afternoon on the lake. This is the view from my parents' house; I love it - isn't it gorgeous!?

My parents entertained Walker while Brandon and I had a little "mini-date" for about an hour, which was so nice! Brandon and I went out on a jet ski and then came back to the dock to just visit. I was pretty obsessed with my mom's "Go Jump in the Lake" koozie!

Walker rode around on the Mule with my Dad and hung out inside with my Mom. Spoiled rotten!

Later, I got him in his swimsuit and he went back on the jet ski with Brandon.

...and then my Dad took us out on the boat! And yes, that's a Barbie life jacket! HA!

Brandon and I decided to go tubing after this picture, and I am definitely regretting that today! My arms and neck are so sore!

When we got back, my parents took Walker around the neighborhood on the golf cart, where they stopped in and visited some neighbors/friends. {I seriously LOVE small-town living!} While they were gone, Brandon and I sat back on the screened porch and just relaxed and visited. It was so nice to have some time to ourselves!!

My Dad made a yummy egg casserole and fruit salad for breakfast, and then we took some photos before church.

Here's Walker doing his pointing and "that!"

The following are basically: #truelifeihaveatoddler.

But in all seriousness, I just love being Walker's mama. I'm so thankful that God entrusted us with his little life, and I can't imagine my life without him in it. Celebrating my second Mother's Day with this sweet kiddo {and his Daddy and my family} was the perfect day.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating your mom, being celebrated as a mom or just relaxing and taking in a lovely weekend.

Happy Monday!
