I Need Help!

I need help!

Brandon and I are going to New York City {sans Walker} in December to celebrate his 30th birthday. We've both been to the Big Apple multiple times, but never together.

Could you help me out and give me some recommendations on where to go and what to eat?

We want a mix of touristy and off-the-beaten-path activities, and definitely restaurants that are hidden gems. We aren't picky!

So, if you've traveled there, lived there before or are currently a New York or New Jersey resident, help a sister out! {Please!}

  1. WOW! This is so exciting - NYC is my favourite city in the world!!!
    Our favourites were: NY Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Garden, Ice skating in Central Park, Horse back carriage through Central Park, Twin Towers Memorial Site, Pizza at Grimaldis, Ice Hot Chocolate at Serendipity, a show/musical on Broadway.

  2. My husband and I just got back from NYC. We love that city!! We were engaged there 3 years ago in central park! We typically go around Christmas time and while it can be unbearably cold it's just so magical in the winter!! We love Grimaldi's pizza too! The original is in Brooklyn but they've opened one in Manhatten too. It's cash only just FYI! We also LOVE Buddakan in the Chelsea area. It's asain food and was featured in Sex and the City movie but it's seriousky great food and very "swanky" ha! We also tried a place called BLT Steak this time and my husband said the steak was one of the best he's had!

  3. So fun!! New York City is such a neat city! Sardi's is a fun place to grab dessert after a Broadway show (lots of celebs have eaten there!). We went a few summers back - here's the recap :) The Plaza Hotel's food court is really nice and had lots of great treats and food from all over - plus the hotel is gorgeous and fun to explore! Yall have fun! http://simplyswarbrick.blogspot.com/2013/06/our-crazy-12-day-road-trip-new-york-city.html?m=1

  4. Sooo fun! I've been to New York quite a few times and each time is definitely different. Last time we went we had dinner at a pizza place that used to be a theatre, I'm not sure the exact name but it's near all the Broadway shows, a concierge should know. Also, we almost always go to serendipity for the experience. Put your name down and then there is a cute bistro type place at the corner. We eat there then have dessert at serendipity. It's worked for us each time. If I think of more, I'll let you know. We typically just pick places as we are going so I forget the names haha!
