Thoughts for Thursday: A True Brain Dump

I'm linking up with Annie and Natalie for "Thoughts for Thursday," and today it's a true brain dump today.

+ I'm tired, y'all. Like, worn the heck out. I just feel like I can't catch up on sleep, even when I go to bed around 9 p.m. I know it's just that time of the year, but we have just been so busy and I feel like I'm now paying for it. I know, I can sleep when I'm dead, but I would just love one night of going to bed at 8 p.m. and not having to wake up until I actually woke myself up - around about 10 a.m.! {Those were the good ol' days. Ha!}

+ I am literally counting down the days until this school year is over: 34. *Insert hallelujah iPhone emoji here.*

+ Walker has pink eye. Again. I'm super annoyed by it and frustrated for him.

+ Some days, I totally feel like I have it all together as a wife, mom and employee. And some days, I just feel like a total failure at one - or all - of the above. The latter is typically on a Friday when I'm just beat and we're eating hot dogs and Cheez-Its for dinner.

+ My 9-month-old CHI straightener bit the dust the other day {only one plate was working, so that's nice} and I was so mad I had to replace it. This is my third CHI straightener in less than two years and I'm beyond annoyed about that. I should probably bite the dust and buy a super ridiculously expensive one {since I use it every single day}, but I just don't want to fork over that kind of money for one. I know, #FWP.

+ I've got some awesome news that I can share with y'all this summer - and no, I'm not pregnant - and it's killing me slowly inside that I can't tell you yet. I know, probably horrible of me to tease you like that.

+ I've been busy uploading all of Walker's 3,000+ photos/videos to Picasa Web Albums so I'll actually have a place for them instead of just in folders on my computer. Going back and looking at his tiny little newborn self has me almost in tears! How he is already 14.5 months is beyond me.

+ I walked into Charming Charlie yesterday and didn't buy one single thing. I don't know how I had the willpower to do that, but I was pretty dang proud of myself!

+ My brother called me yesterday and said, "Hey, do you write press releases?" I started laughing and said, "Um, every single day." He was having to write one for his college class and needed a template, but I just found it funny that people not in the PR profession have no dang idea what it is we do on a daily basis.

+ Pandora's "90s Pop Radio" station is seriously my new favorite. It's so on point. Also, I feel old. Wasn't it 1995 10 years ago?! ;)

+ Speaking of old, Jordan Spieth, the Masters Champion, was born in 1993. Uh, yeah.

+ I still rock Walker to sleep at night. Well, not to sleep, but I still rock him before I lay him down at night. I can't bring it to myself to stop doing it just yet.

+ Which brings me to: I should probably start moving some of his "baby baby" stuff out of his room, but I'm just in denial. Maybe I'll work on that this summer. #howisheatoddler

+ I need new pajamas like nobody's business. Anyone have a go-to place to get cute - yet comfortable - ones? I'm kind of past the Victoria's Secret stage unless it's their comfier "Pink" brand.

+ I'm getting so addicted to Receipt Hog. If you haven't tried it, do! It's the easiest thing ever. I can't wait to get enough coins to get a $30 cash pay-out. {And all you have to do is snap a picture of any receipt where you purchase something!}

  1. If you do fork over the cash for an expensive straightener, I recommend the GHD. I got mine for Christmas in 2007 and its still going strong. Definitely got my (parents') money's worth out of it. It heats up in less than 20 seconds too! When it bites the dust (which will probably be soon now that I've jinxed myself), I will definitely be getting another one!

  2. One day I fix this but when I comment it appears under my husband's email acct. My name is Janel. I used a Chi for years! Finally invested in a U Smooth flat iron and WOW I couldn't believe the difference!

  3. I've had a Conair straightener for - - uh well, 5 years? Maybe 6? It's a 3" one, and it was literally $30. It works amazing, and has a temperature setting that goes way up past 410 degrees - - - I mean seriously, who has to use that much heat on their head? Probably really thick coarse hair - Just a suggestion, sometimes "your mama's brand" products seem to last longer than those "young kids brands" Hehehe you know what I mean?

    I am in LOVE with my PINK sweat pants from VS - I also got a Baseball (two tone) t-shirt from them, and I swear - I COULD LIVE IN THEM.

    Aw - hold on to the baby baby stuff as long as you can. My son still has his first Pirate ship picture from his nursery in his room - he still loves it. And it reminds me of how he was as a baby (8 years ago - GASP)

  4. The school year will be over before you know it! Don’t we all have days like that my goodness, I’m always feeling like one day I’ve got it all together and the next day I’m a mess. Can’t wait to hear your news! Isn’t it funny that people hear news or announcement and automatically always think pregnancy!
