Weekending

Happy Monday! We're officially on Spring Break, and I'm so excited to have a much-needed week off. Let's get to it!

-FRIDAY-
Brandon came home early morning from his business trip to Orlando. He missed all the snow, and for that I was extremely jealous! Since I took off work, we picked him up at the airport and then all had lunch at Chick-fil-A. We had a riveting afternoon of laundry, a trip to the grocery store and waiting around for a plumber to arrive to fix a very leaky bathtub in our guest bathroom.

I decided to spend the afternoon decorating for spring.

-SATURDAY-
We took Walker on his very first train ride! A town near us has an old steam engine railroad that now does rides down to the Fort Worth Stockyards, Polar Express trains and even jazz wine tours. {Yep, that's next on our list, sans baby. Ha!} Anyway, they do little one-hour train rides on the weekends for smaller kids - and Walker was free - so we decided to take him. It was a beautiful day and perfect for this.

Much to our surprise, he loved it! He kept looking out the window and saying, "Ooooohhh!" and smiling so big while looking around. We will definitely be going back!

Being a complete goof ball for the picture

Fiddling with every little thing on the train

Completely mesmerized by the train ride

Getting a little stir crazy at the end

Posing with Daddy afterward

We had lunch at my in-law's afterward, and then Brandon went to play golf with his dad and one of his brothers. Walker and I tried hanging out at my in-law's, but he was refusing to nap and turned into a little toot. So, we came home and spent the rest of the afternoon in a battle of the wills. Teething is seriously the worst!

Once Walker was {finally} in bed, Brandon and I had dinner and caught up on a couple more episodes of "House of Cards" Season 3.

-SUNDAY-
Brandon came down with a stomach bug {yuck!} so we didn't go to church. While he rested, I did some major spring cleaning - and by cleaning I mean purging - out every single closet, drawer and cabinet. It felt so good to get rid of just junk I had laying around.

Last night, we watched "Boyhood" - not as great as I wanted it to be, but I loved that it was filmed and based in Texas - and then went to bed pretty early.

Walker and I are braving the rain today to go out and get a few new d├ęcor items I want for above my kitchen cabinets. I'm finally getting rid of the red tones I have in there and bringing in some of the light blue from the living room.

Hope y'all have a great Monday!

  2. The train looks so fun! And I love to do a big clean out of the house too. I do it twice a year and somehow keep finding stuff to get rid of, ha. Always feels great afterwards to have less stuff around!

  4. I love new things to do with the kiddos :) We have a fun little railroad park about 30 minutes from our house and I took our little man there for a mommy playdate; it was so cool to see him get so excited about the "choo choo."
