Mondays stink, but the Monday after Spring Break might be pretty high up there on the craptastic Monday calendar. Can I get an "amen?"

We had a nice, relaxing weekend and finished out Spring Break with a bang. Only 59 more days of school! I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

I had a dentist appointment, so Liz watched Walker for me. I have two cavities {boo} and have to go back in a couple of weeks to have those filled. Always a joy, let me tell ya! When I was finished, Liz and I took the kiddos to Chick-fil-A to eat lunch, and then Walker and I came home to hang out until Brandon got home from work.

Walker's first year book came in and he and I poured over the pages. Side note: why do babies have to grow up so fast!?

We had dinner with some friends at Mi Cocina, and then came home to watch more episodes of "Orange is the New Black."

We were complete lazy bums! We all took a morning nap, and then I had to make a quick run to Kroger to pick up a few things I forgot from my big shopping trip {hate when that happens!}.

Brandon started on some yard work, which we have needed to do now that winter is {hopefully} behind us. Walker and his dirty-from-dinner shirt thought that was hilarious. I love his sweet smile!

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw this picture, but I couldn't resist posting again. I asked Brandon to change Walker's diaper, and began getting things together for our grilled steak supper. I looked up when they came back out into the living room and saw this:

Clearly buttoning the onesie and sticking it inside Walker's pants wasn't at the top of Brandon's priority list. Ha! ;) He said, "Eh, it's easier that way." Men!

We went to church and got Chipotle to go to eat at home. After Walker's nap, we hit up one of our local parks for Walker to play. He loved, loved the swings!

...but was too interested in watching the other kids run around for me to take a picture of he and Brandon. ;)

After the park, I started pulling weeds in the backyard, which led to Brandon taking a trip to Home Depot for some Ironite for our yard. He came back with the Ironite...and some potting soil...and some mulch...and some flowers. I love being in the garden, so this was fun to me!

We spent about an hour or so planting the flowers and getting our yard ready for spring.

You can't really tell from this picture, but we re-mulched all the beds, planted the flowers and pulled up all the weeds. And the Ironite is what we put on our yard every year to turn it from winter yellow to green! If you haven't used it before, it's awesome.

Once we all got cleaned up from yard work, I made Poppyseed Chicken {using this recipe}, per Brandon's request. It's one of our favorite comfort food meals, and I figured we could use a little comfort after being off for 11 days. Sigh.

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend. Cheers to a hopefully smooth week!

I took a nap on Saturday, is was epic - I love lazy days!

    1. Thanks, girl! I know, he is growing like a weed!

  2. That poppyseed chicken looks yummy! Love Walker's smile on the swing!! And I have a feeling Michael will be the same way about dressing our little dude after diaper changes. Definitely cracked me up when I saw that pic though!

  3. Oh my goodness, my husband did the same thing to my daughter the other day except he buttoned her onesie outside of her pants... haha! That one year book looks BEAUTIFUL! I'm overwhelmed just thinking about making one in a few months for Clara - so many pictures to choose from! -- Lisa | Two Martinis
