Friday!

Happy Friday! This is the last day of Spring Break...man, that went by quickly. I'm off to the dentist {ugh} today, and then Walker and I are having a play date with Liz and her two girls - complete with lunch at Chick-fil-A! So, let's get started!

-ONE-
Walker decided it would be the coolest thing ever if he threw my iPhone in the toilet on Wednesday morning. After frantically trying to fish it out, my poor {brand new} iPhone was toast. AT&T had to overnight me one; thanks, Walker! And let me tell you what, you don't realize how much you rely on the Google Maps app until you're writing directions down from MapQuest old school style. {And yes, I know, #firstworldproblems.}

-TWO-
My brother was recently accepted into the Baylor in New York program, where Baylor Communication students move to New York City for a semester and take classes while holding down an internship in the field they want to study. {Students work anywhere from ESPN to NBC.} We are so beyond proud of him!

Since he'll be there this fall, Brandon and I decided to visit him in December and tack it along as Brandon's 30th birthday trip! I've always wanted to see NYC at Christmas, and this will be a triple bonus to also see my brother in his element and celebrate Brandon's big 3-0. And did I mention we're bringing Walker?! This should be fun! Ha!

-THREE-
And speaking of NYC, it will clearly be super cold there in December. So, I couldn't resist this precious coat from ASOS that was on super sale earlier this week. Now to just beef up my winter wardrobe for the trip...!

-FOUR-
Brandon and I just finished Season 3 of "House of Cards," and I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't watched it yet. All I'm gonna say is, the last episode is absolutely the best. I can't believe they left us with a cliff-hanger like that!

Since we're finished with that season {and have to wait until next year for that and "Downton Abbey"...seriously?!}, we have started Season 2 of "Orange is the New Black." We love, love that show and I have to say, Taystee is definitely one of my favorites.

-FIVE-
Walker and I have had a ton of fun together this week! His favorite thing we did was the "Mother Goose Story Time" at our local library...I'm telling you, the kid loves books, so this was perfect. They sang songs, read books and did a little lesson. Afterward, he and I checked out some books and he was in heaven. The picture below is his, "Why are you interrupting my reading, lady?" face. ;)

Afterward, we went to play at a local park with some people from a neighborhood mom's group I joined. We had so much fun getting to meet new people and enjoy the sunshine!

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

  2. Sounds like you had a great week!! Minus the iPhone incident of course. :( Yay for NYC at Christmas!! I did a fall semester there (similar to your brother it sounds like - with the internship and all) and it's magical at Christmas time!! So much to see and do.

  6. A Christmas NYC trip sounds like so much fun! And I don't know why, but my husband and I are delaying watching House of Cards!!! I feel like we waited so long for season 3 that we can't binge watch it HAHA! But I know as soon as it starts will blow through all the episodes in a few days. Hope you had an amazing weekend! Thanks for linking up at H54F!
