Weekending + Thanksgiving

Happy Monday, friends! It was super hard to get back to work this morning and take Walker to school, but alas, we are here! Let's catch up, shall we?

-WEDNESDAY-
I baked and cooked up a storm Thursday, making my very first pecan pie, and will definitely say that it turned out wonderfully! In addition to that, I made buttermilk pie {AKA: chess pie}, corn casserole and of course, bought wine to take!

I ended the evening with a marathon wrapping session...whilst having a glass of vino and watching "Gone With the Wind."

-THURSDAY-
We truly enjoyed our first Thanksgiving as a family of three. We were in town this year with my in-law's, and while I missed my family immensely, it was nice to see all of Brandon's family.

-FRIDAY-
Of course, with a baby, we were up around 6:15 a.m., so we decided to venture out to Home Depot to find some Christmas lights for our house. We were totally prepared for absolute crazy, but it wasn't in the least!

Walker was looking in the buggy like, "You brought me to Home Depot on Black Friday for THIS?!"

We got our lights at a great price and came home to do some online Black Friday shopping. {Of course I only got stuff for Walker and Brandon, per usual! Ha!} We paid to have someone put lights on our house this year, and I will say that it's the best money I ever spent. It took me longer to write the check than it did for them to hang them up!

I got a pedicure and did some relaxing Friday night, and then my brother came into town for the Baylor vs. Texas Tech game at Cowboys' Stadium.

-SATURDAY-
Walker did lots of playing with Mommy {seriously miss this today!} and we visited with my brother before he left for the game.

That afternoon, we had lunch at Mellow Mushroom {so yummy!} and then took Santa pictures! It was seriously the best experience ever with our scheduled appointment: it was quick and easy, and the people were so nice. Plus, Santa looked so real that I was basically convinced! ;) I need to order the picture(s) today from their website; I can't wait for you to see them!

Liz and Chris brought their girls, Parker and Peyton, around the same time, so the babies had a little photoshoot together outside afterward.

That evening, Liz and I went to Downtown Grapevine for a glass {or two} of wine to catch up! It was great getting out with a good friend to have a little adult time!

-SUNDAY-
We took my brother to church with us, then all went out to have a quick bite at Pei Wei before he had to hit the road. I took a good nap, got things ready for this week and just cleaned up around the house.

I hopped into bed super early last night with a cup of hot tea to watch "Home Alone" - the best Christmas movie ever!

I hope y'all have a wonderful week!

Linking up with Biana and Meghan today!

  4. I love your Stocking Holders! SO cool!
And I haven't seen Gone with the Wind in YEARS - must watch soon!

Also: the picture of your son playing with the play kitchen - the only thing I saw at first were his LITTLE TOES... it's a mom thing, right? LITTLE TOES! Emry, is 7, his toes are not little by ANY MEANS ANYMORE! HAHA!

Home Depot for Christmas Lights - Genius idea on Black Friday! We usually stock up the day after a holiday for decorations - last year on 12/26 - we got enough icicle lights to do our entire house, at 75% off. Total SCORE!

    Happy Monday!
