Walker is TEN Months Old!

Walker, you are TEN months old! You're turning into such a big boy, and I can't even wrap my brain around the fact that you're going to be one year old in {less than} two months.

Your eating schedule is still the same as last month: three bottles at 6 a.m., 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. The biggest difference from last month to this month is that I have quit making your pureés and you are strictly on table food and bottles now! You are growing up and I have to admit, I'm loving that you can just have what we have at meals.

Your schedule is as follows: 6 a.m.: wake, followed by a cereal bar and a bottle; 9 a.m.: morning snack, which is typically yogurt and a fruit; 9:30 a.m.: nap; 12 p.m.: lunch, which is whatever we have on hand - from peas to turkey to chicken to green beans, along with a fruit and your bottle; 1 p.m.: nap; 3 p.m.: afternoon snack; 6 p.m.: dinner and bottle; 7:30 p.m.: bed.

You are still a great sleeper, and I know I say it often, but I never cease to be thankful for that! We have started laying you down now at 7:30 p.m. as opposed to 7 p.m., and I think that has helped your random 5:30 a.m. waking {and putting yourself back to sleep} that you had been doing for a couple of weeks. You wake up now between 6-6:30 a.m.

When you're home with me, you take two two-hour naps a day. At school? Not so much. But that's okay! You're moving up to the Infant II class after Christmas Break and they take two two-hour naps a day, so I'm hoping that will help you in that regard.

This month, you have stopped wanting us to rock/sway you to sleep. Instead, you reach out for your crib, so we lay you in it. You'll fuss for a few seconds, then go right to sleep. I miss rocking you terribly, but I'm very proud that you are a self-soother!

You had your nine month appointment a few weeks ago, and since then, you're up to 23.2 little chunky monkey! You are 29 inches, and your head circumference is 18 inches. I love your sweet little rolls so much!

You are absolutely on the verge of walking, little one! You go all over our house with your V-Tech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker {not the kind you sit in since our pediatrician is highly against them} and pull up on every. single. thing: our couch, chairs, baby gates, toys, name it, you figure out a way to scale it and will then let go for just a second, standing freely by yourself.

You also have started dive-bombing off of anything we have you on; namely our laps, which of course freaks me out. You're on the move big time.

You have a fascination with closing doors and will crawl as fast as you can across the room to go shut them. Then you'll turn around and look at us as if saying, "Can you open it so I can close it again?" Your favorite pastime of late is to close the closet door from the outside when I'm in the inside and laugh hysterically.

You love anything electronic, so we purchased you a toy remote that you love. Any time we pull it out, you smile so big and start giggling. You act like it's a phone, however, and will hold it up to your ear when I say, "Hello?" It's precious.

You're a chatterbox and are always saying something: mama, dada, ba-ba, buh-bye, Ta-Ta {what we all call our Aunt Tina}, and cat. When you're having your diaper changed, you'll just chatter away and will laugh at me when I mimic you back.

When you want a bite of the food we have or a sip of the drink we're having, you'll come up to us and start smacking your lips, saying "mmmm!" and then will say, "Mamamamamama" or "Dadadadadadada" until we give you a bite. You're like a little puppy!

You also will lay your head on the floor when you're tired of crawling and will look back at me for a second. I'll say, "Ohhhh, sweet baby!" and you'll come plant a big ol' kiss on my lips.

My favorite recent development is the picture below. When we say, "Oh my goodness!" you put both hands on the side of your face and open your mouth wide. I think you have seen Mommy do that a time or two!

Your firsts for this month included: transitioning to all table foods {no more pureés!}; your first Halloween; your first Thanksgiving; pulling up on things and letting go; and

You are in mainly 12 month clothes, though still in a 6-12 month in Gap and Old Navy. I'm still getting a few more uses out of your 9 month pajamas and pants, but you're relatively in 12 month tops across the board.

To say you act like your Mommy is an understatement! :) You have zero patience and when you want something, you want it now. However, you are so sweet and loving - you're my cuddler and you are so affectionate. You love to give kisses and will plant a big wet one on me at the most random times. You love to laugh and if I find something that will make you laugh, I will do it over and over and over again to hear that sweet chuckle.

You love: taking baths, being outside, swinging in your swing outside, shutting doors, your Daddy, yogurt, pears, playing Pat-a-Cake, talking on your "phone," your family {you adore your Papa, Uncle Parker and Aunt Maggie, especially!}, reading, and terrorizing Oliver.

You are not a fan of: getting dressed, being still, your carseat, getting out of the bathtub, being rocked {sniff, sniff!}, black beans, and when we drop you off in the nursery for Sunday School.

Walk, Walky, Walkalicious, Buddy, Little Man, Monkey, Monk-Monk

How we love you so! I say it every single month, but I am truly loving each stage of life that we're in with you. Now, with us being in the holiday season, I am seeing Christmas through your eyes, and it brings me such great joy. Experiencing this season with you is truly magical.

You are so funny and fun, and I really can't remember how we got along without you. Seeing you discover new things and learn has me in awe every day. This first year is a huge year; I look at you and think sometimes, "Ten months ago, you weren't even able to hold your little head up, and look at you: now you're crawling across the house and love for me to chase you!"

I pray that you'll always have the sweet, loving heart that you have now. I do pray, however, for your patience because you get a lack of it from my side of the family and I know how what has gotten some of us {cough, cough, me} in hot water at times. I pray that you will always have a childlike faith.

You are a joy and a delight. We love you to the moon and back again.
