Weekending

It's Monday! I'm linking up with Biana and Meghan today.

Today is the first day of school for the students in my district, and I can't let the first day pass without sharing the song I always sing to myself on the first day of school: "Back to School" from "Billy Madison!"

Because today is the first day of school, I felt like I was truly on some sort of a deadline to doallthethings this weekend. We did a ton around the house, but this was our first weekend in a L-O-N-G time that we had zero plans. Nowhere to go, just spending some family time together at home. And I loved it!

-FRIDAY-
My aunt just celebrated her 40th birthday, so she came over to get her birthday gift with us and hang out for a little bit. She helped us with Walker and read him his bedtime story.

-SATURDAY-
We had such a lazy morning! Walker and I took a short nap together and then we just lounged around the house watching the College Gameday preview special. {Can I make a note here to say how much I love college football and am so glad it's almost back!? Sic 'Em, Bears!} I even made myself a mimosa because, why not?! Walker and I then took another nap together on the couch on Saturday afternoon. He is such a good little snuggle buddy!

Then, the shower guys came to do the final step to complete our bathroom: installing our seamless shower! While they were doing that, Brandon framed our bathroom mirror. We are so beyond pleased with the results. Here is our final, complete bathroom...note I do have a scratch on my iPhone lens, so there is always a little fleck of something in the photo, ugh!:

We are so beyond pleased with how our bathroom turned out! It was a labor of love, that's for sure! {View this post for details on our bathroom and a before and after.}

I did a ton of laundry, made a month's worth of food for Walker and did some cleaning and organizing. Brandon grilled steaks for dinner and I made this yummy salad

-SUNDAY-
We went to the early service at church, and then came home and had hot ham and cheese grillers and were lazy bums! I made a quick trip to Target {the day before school starts, not a smart move...it was packed!} and then came home to clean and organize more things.

Walker and I then laid down and took an hour and 45 minute nap. It was amazing! He loves napping in our bed, and I don't mind it if it means I can get a nap in, too!

I also made these quick and easy first-day-of-school gifts for Walker's three teachers. {Yes, he's been in his class since April, but since I'm in a first-day-of-school mindset, I thought it would be a fun little "extra" for them!}

I found the free printables here and just printed them out on regular card stock. I cut them out and tied them using baker's twine to a bottle of Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin soap from Bath and Body Works.

I made this easy pasta bake for dinner, and then we gave Walker a bath and put him to bed. And look who has graduated from the baby tub and is now sitting up in the tub for his baths! I can't believe this big boy! He absolutely adores it and had so much fun splashing around and being able to reach all his toys.

Note: I purchased this baby bathtub mat from Target so he won't slip and slide in the tub.

I hope y'all have a wonderful week!
