Oh Hey, Friday!

Happy Friday! I'm linking up with The Farmer's Wife and September Farm today.

-ONE-
I have taken today off from work! Woo hoo! We are having our new marble and granite countertops installed, as well as having our ugly brass shower removed {to make way for our new seamless shower in seven to 10 business days}, so someone has to be here with the contractors.

I'm actually doing something I never thought I would do: I took Walker to day care this morning on a day I had off. I always thought I'd leave him here with me when I didn't have to work, but I actually took him. I didn't want him to be here with all the noise, and I am going to the grocery store, getting a pedicure and getting my hair cut this afternoon when Brandon gets home from his half day. I'm definitely looking forward to a "me" day; I haven't had one of those in a long time.

-TWO-
Speaking of haircut, I'm so over my hair right now. I cut it right around my birthday, but that was too short for me and I've been trying to grow it out just a tad since then. But now I'm feeling like it's really weighted down on the bottom, won't tease on the top and I'm generally just over my hair right now. I'm really thinking about taking this picture to my stylist this afternoon for the cut. Thoughts?

-THREE-
Since I work in the school system and we're preparing for back to school, I got this sudden urge yesterday to do a little back to school shopping of my own. {Sorry, Brandon!} I purchased the following cute little items and can't wait for them to arrive on my doorstep!

We have also made dentist appointments, had check-ups and vaccinations, I'm getting my hair cut, etc. I feel like it's the first day of school for me, too! Ha!

-FOUR-
I am in desperate search of a cute little outfit for Walker to wear to school on Halloween. And by "cute," I mean something that doesn't say, "I'm Batty for Mommy," or "My First Halloween." Not to offend anyone, but I really am not a fan of that kind of stuff. I've been scouring Zulily and Baby Gap, but does anyone have ideas?

I like something like this, but I think this one is a little too girly.

-FIVE-
I love this look! I might need to try to recreate it this fall!

Happy Friday, friends!

  1. Love that haircut! I want that J.Crew top. Love how stylish you are at school! I have always put my boys in halloween colors or skull type shirts, things they can wear more than once but still be in the theme!

  2. I bought an appliqued shirt from Two Spunky Monkeys on etsy last year for Graham. It had pumpkins in a wagon (that was done in a brown corduroy) with his name underneath. It definitely wasn't as girly as a lot of the other pumpkin shirts that I had seen! It was reasonably priced for a handmade item too.
