Five on Friday

Happy Friday! This is my first Friday back to work after maternity leave, so I'm waaaaaay happy that Friday is here!

Thank you, as always, to the lovely hostesses of the Five on Friday link-up: A. Liz Adventures, Carolina Charm, Hello! Happiness and [the good life blog]

-ONE-
I'm getting to wear "big girl" clothes again! While they're definitely not as comfortable as yoga pants and an old college T-shirt, I will admit that it's nice to feel "nice" for eight hours a day. {Although by Fridays all I want are those yoga pants!} I am now able to fit into all my pre-pregnancy clothes, and I'm so excited about it!

And here's where I get reaaaaaaal honest with y'all, so get ready, mmmmkay? I told y'all a couple months ago that I would share with you my weight loss progress, and I'm finally ready to do so now that I've met my goals. So, drum roll, please…

Before I got pregnant, I weighed 120 pounds. When Walker was born, I weighed 160 pounds. {Big gasp here. I wanted to die when I saw that number on the scale at the doctor's office. Not that it's bad if that's your natural weight, but a weight gain of 40 pounds is a hard pill to swallow.} But! I now weigh 122 pounds and all my old clothes fit! It wasn't easy: I got a personal trainer, really watched what I ate, used My Fitness Pal, breastfed, and really looked at food as fuel for my body {which was feeding another human being} - as opposed to eating what tasted or looked good. It hasn't been easy, but nothing ever worth having is.

-TWO-
Walker is being dedicated at church next Sunday {Mother's Day}, and my parents, in-law's and aunt are joining us for the special celebration! Afterwards, we're having everyone over to our house for - and here's where I need your help - either brunch or lunch.

The service is at 11 a.m. and should be over by 12:15 p.m. or so. And I'm struggling because it's always a tough thing to get everyone out the door and you kind of skip or have a light breakfast. So should we do lunch {and grill something like pork tenderloin} or have brunch {and have mimosas but I have no idea what else because mimosas = brunch}. Help meeeee!

-THREE-
We are celebrating little victories this week. One of which includes a little boy who hates tummy time who decided he loved it yesterday. After a long week, we're enjoying the little things, and smiles and giggles during tummy time are definitely little victories that we're not taking for granted.

-FOUR-
Am I the only person in the world who still watches "Grey's Anatomy?" My friend Lara got me into it in college and I'm still addicted seven/eight years later, much to my chagrin. Last night's episode was insanity! "Phoebe Freebie…"

-FIVE-
I've become quite obsessed with Origins' High-Potency Night-A-Mins cream that I got as a sample {although it's a full-size sample!} from them a couple of weeks ago. It's the perfect night face cream and smells so fresh and clean. While I couldn't use it at all as a day cream - it's quite thick - it's great for nighttime when you need to recover from the day.

I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend! We're going to be laying low, resting and trying to perfect our new normal.

Happy Weekend to you!

  2. Congrats on losing ALL of your baby weight!! That is impressive and I'm sure no easy feat as a new momma! And yes, I still watch Grey's too! I was shocked about Jackson and April's news! But hopefully that means they'll stay together. :)
