Maybe it was the fact that we knew it was Spring Break - despite me technically not being "off" this year due to maternity leave - but we definitely enjoyed this weekend. 

Friday evening, we {sadly} scrapped our patio plans at 7 Salsas because a sweet little boy was being a little fussy, as babies do!, so Brandon picked up Taco Diner and brought it home for us. I was so tired and fell asleep on the couch for what felt like 30 minutes…um, no…two hours. Best nap ever. 

Saturday morning, I joined a gym. I know, so unlike me! But I have hit a plateau and these last 10 pounds of baby weight just aren't melting off, so I joined a gym and Brandon got me 11 personal training sessions to jumpstart the entire process. I'm so nervous, which I know is ridiculous, but I'm just not a gym person. My friends and family will tell you that I never meet a stranger, but for some reason, I get so intimated going to the gym! But, I'm looking forward to being back at my pre-baby weight, if not less! 

That afternoon, my Aunt Tina came over and she and I ventured out to Gap to check out their big sale. Of course, I came home with a cute dress for me, a shirt for Brandon, and two little outfits for Walker. She stayed for supper with us and just loved all over Walker! 

Sunday morning, we went to church for the first time post-baby! It has been almost six weeks and we were really missing being there. Walker was absolutely perfect during the service, and we were so thankful for that. After the service, we took a quick picture to document his first time at church with our sweet friends Leigh Ann and Mike - fellow Baylor Bears - who are honestly like Walker's honorary set of third grandparents. We just love them! 

And you'll notice the jackets: we had amazing weather on Friday and it got chilly again on Saturday and Sunday - but at least it was sunny. Welcome to Texas! I refused to wear a jacket and instead wore a sweater dress, tights and boots and am hoping that's the last time I'll fish my boots off the top shelf of my closet until fall! Here's to hoping spring will stick around for good. 

After church, we had lunch and then read Walker a few books. I know I'm a mom know when I cry my way through "On the Night You Were Born." {And I can't even look at "Love You Forever" without crying.}

After his afternoon nap, we went for a walk around the neighborhood and enjoyed the sunny weather and extra hour of daylight, thanks to Daylight Saving Time! {And yes, it's "Saving" and not "Savings." #prgirlproblems} And because Walker was asleep after our walk, we pushed his stroller into the backyard and Brandon and I pulled weeds and enjoyed the much-needed Vitamin D. 

I made this for supper and we just relaxed, did laundry and played with our sweet boy.

  1. Relax and give yourself time to shake the weight. It will come off! That out of the way, ENJOY that gym time! Really soak in what the trainer shows you so when your time is up you can use that knowledge on your own :-)
