These are a Few of My Favorite Things: Beauty Edition

Happy Thursday!

I thought I'd share with you today a few of my tried-and-true, affordable, favorite beauty products. Because who doesn't love cheap?! And y'all, when I say "tried-and-true," I really mean it: I am a Walgreen's freak. I have been known to have three different bottles of shampoo in my shower; four different lotions under the sink; and about 10 shades of lipstick in my drawer. I can't help myself!

So, without any further aideu...

1. This stuff has gotten me through this on-and-off winter in North Texas - for real. It's green to minimize redness, has an SPF and doesn't make my combination skin oily. Plus, it's cheap! I typically used Lâncome moisturizer, but it would make my skin oily in the T-Zone by the end of the day; this stuff doesn't do that at all.

2. How much can I rave about this eye cream?! Clearly I'm up at all hours of the night with a new baby, and this eye cream really does brighten and minimize my dark circles. I can't say enough good things about it. Now granted, you can't get this at a drugstore, but it's not that expensive and works wonders.

3. I picked this up on a whim at Kroger the other day because, let's face it: I'm white. {I absolutely refuse to get in a tanning bed anymore. I used to tan so much in high school and college, but the thought of it now makes me sick. Perhaps I'll do a post just devoted to tanning and my thoughts on it another day…} Anyway, I'm so white, so I picked it up on a whim. The first day I used it, I started seeing results, and they weren't streaky! The cool thing about this is, the color lasts a while and you can keep using it until you get the color you want. I love it!

4. My mom told me about this deodorant, and without going into too much detail, I will say that I tried every. single. deodorant on the market and this is the only one that helps me. I literally do NOT sweat. Again, you have to buy this at a Kiehl's store {or online}, but for the work it does, it's worth every cent.

5. My 10-year-old sister got me hooked on these! I have super fine, thin hair, and the regular ponytail holders just weren't cutting it. My hair would slowly slip out of the ponytail all day. I picked these up at CVS right before Walker was born and used them in the hospital. Now, again without getting into too much detail, I will tell you that these suckers HOLD UP. I had my hair pulled back into a ponytail through labor, delivery and recovery and my hair didn't move at all. I even got the pack with a cute little leopard print elastic; love that!

6. And finally, this volumizer works. Like I said, my hair is fine and thin, and I'm always looking for some sort of root booster to really give me some body and height. {I do live in Texas, after all, where the "higher the hair, the closer to God!"} You can buy it at the drugstore and it works wonders.

What are some of your favorite cheap products?

  3. I'm definitely telling my sister about this deodorant.
Like you, she's tried them ALL and hasn't had any luck. Might as well try one more :)

  4. Eucerin does wonders for chapped lips too. Just cake it on at night after you've brushed your teeth. And also throughout the day if needed. Just be sure to use a little amount so it doesn't look like you have just devoured powdered donuts. Lol
