Five on Friday

Happy Friday! I'm totally lazy today, so this is a pictureless post. :)

We have zero plans this weekend. Let me repeat that again: ZERO PLANS. I am ridiculously excited about that rarity. I laugh when I think back to high school and college and how having zero plans made you a huge loser, but now? I'm totally a loser and I love it.

We had zero trick-or-treaters last night. None! What the heck? Last year we had at least 10, but this year we had none. I was so mad that I made Brandon go outside, ring the doorbell, say "Trick-or-Treat!" and handed him a piece of candy. I will say that we had some major Scrooges in our neighborhood who kept all of their lights off, so maybe that deterred the kids? Either way, I guess I'll appreciate it next year when I won't have kids ringing the doorbell at all hours of the night with a sleeping baby.

Speaking of holidays, I really hate when Halloween is over, because people immediately jump to Christmas. I'm all about Christmas, but I really would like to enjoy November, Thanksgiving and all of my pumpkin/fall d├ęcor for just one more month {technically 29 days because I always put my Christmas up the day after Thanksgiving} before everything is all about Christmas.

Brandon and I saw a Christmas commercial this morning and both looked at each other like, "Really?!" Although I have ordered a few Christmas gifts, so I guess I can't say too much...

I don't know why, but I've been really annoyed with Facebook lately. My feed is completely littered with adults using Facebook -- multiple times a day -- as their diary, posting everything from what time they go to the gym to an album of photos showcasing what they're having for supper to how annoyed they are with their neighbor to how dilated they are in the middle of labor. I'm all about posting photos, the occasional status update and creeping on people {I'll admit it}, but I absolutely cannot stand the vague status updates (My least favorite? "Unspoken prayer request, please!" Look, I'm all about praying for folks, but I know you're just posting that to make people ask you what's wrong.); the constant complaint status updates; the recipe shares; or constant posts about something you believe in so much. {"I GET IT ALREADY!"} I also am truly bothered by people who use Facebook as such a "finality." Like, you have to post it to Facebook for it to be true, real or if you don't say 'Happy Birthday' to a family member on there you're disowned.

And? I know I might get shunned for this one, but I hate seeing fresh-outta-the-womb naked, purple, cheese-y babies. Maybe I'm a little more private, but I just prefer to see clean babies, wrapped in a blanket, with a hat on, in their mother's arms. Call me old fashioned, but I just do.

For some reason, it's not letting me load here...but you have to watch this video on YouTube about Baylor football. It seriously gave me chill bumps! It cracks me up that people are still trying to say, "Oh, they've played no one good. It doesn't matter." Well, to quote Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty: "Keep doubting Baylor. We love it." Sic 'Em!

Happy Friday!
