Hap Hap Happiest Christmas

"Christmas Vacation" always puts me in an awesome, Christmas-y mood...and I must admit that this vulgar{ish} scene makes me chuckle more and more each year.

And since we started our Christmas shopping today at the Galleria, I'm officially in the Christmas spirit -- as much as I hate to admit it considering the turkey hasn't even been killed for this year and I've yet to do my grocery shopping for the big meal. Too much?

And since I am in the Christmas spirit, and since half of my Christmas shopping is already complete, Brandon and I decided that we actually want to enjoy Christmas this year.

We're simplifying the way we do Christmas with each of our families {one gift for around a set price for each person} and keeping it simple this year. No extravagant gifts, no crazy expensive Christmas cards, no driving to the ends of the earth to find "the" gift and no getting mad and overwhelmed at this special season. We're really trying to focus on what this season is all about.

So, I decided to make a little Christmas bucket list for this year -- our first Christmas in our new {for real new with all this new construction!} house -- and I really want us to stick to it.

Christmas Bucket List
Look at Christmas lights with hot cocoa and Christmas music

Watch my usual list of Christmas movies:
"Elf," "Home Alone," "Christmas Vacation" {obvs}, "A Christmas Story," {you'll shoot your eye out!}, "Miracle on 34th Street," "The Santa Clause," "A Charlie Brown Christmas," and "The Family Stone."

Decorate our first house

Fill Oliver's stocking with his favorite toys + treats

Make + decorate Christmas cookies

So, Merry Christmas season, all. We're off to dinner at our friends' house and planning to take our Christmas card photo tomorrow.
