Y'all, I don't know where the days and weeks are going. I look up and it's already Monday again. What's up with that

I had a huge research project at work that fell in my lap, so I came home and didn't want to do a thing. Brandon was playing golf with a client, so I went to the grocery store {so quiet on Friday evenings!}, came home, cooked supper, had a glass of wine and played with Oliver.

Please tell me why I buy cat toys when all he wants to do is play in the water bottle packaging?

Brandon came home, I fell asleep on the couch watching the Olympics, and we hit the hay early. Surprise, surprise.

I slept in until 9:30 a.m. {!!!} and had coffee in bed with Oliver. Honestly, that is my favorite part of Saturday mornings. He's so sweet and cuddly at that time of the day -- ha!

Later that afternoon, we went out to Lake Grapevine for Brandon's company "Family Day at the Lake." His office reached their $100,000 goal, so it was time to celebrate!

Of course, I didn't take any pictures other than this one of Brandon's boss' daughter, Charlotte, and me. {Excuse my lack of make-up and greasy SPF 50 face.}

I've known Charlotte since she was two years old and I just love her. She has so much personality! She stuck to me like glue all day, and even cried when it was time for her to go home. Her mom {Brandon's boss' wife} called me over to the car because Charlotte wouldn't leave without saying 'goodbye.' She said, "Mommy? Can Brittany come over to play?"

We played in the lake all day, ate yummy catered hot dogs and hamburgers, had a little Dos Equis and played some beach volleyball. The ice cream truck made an appearance and I may or may not have indulged in an ice cream bar.

We watched "Precious" {worst idea ever...good movie, but hard to watch} and I ran a few errands.

I made a yummy supper {thanks, Rachael Ray!} and we watched the Olympics with cookies and {coconut} milk.

We both just love Oscar Pistorius and his story, and how can you not love Usain Bolt?!

Later in the evening, I called my mother-in-law to ask her how she grilled her vegetables that Brandon likes so much. She didn't answer, but texted me back {which is my number one pet peeve}. But look, she misspelled my name, just like my father-in-law did a few weeks ago:

Honestly?! It's becoming quite comical now. Brandon and I have been together for almost five years and my in-law's still can't spell my name correctly. Sigh

Oh well, it could be worse, I guess.

Have a great week, y'all!

Britney {ha!}

  1. Britney?! hahaha no they don't! Also now I really want cookies!!

    1. They do! I'm going to start misspelling her name on things to see if she gets the hint. ;)
