I absolutely cannot believe it's already Sunday. Summer weekends absolutely fly by, but I'm not as sad about the upcoming week since it's a four-day week for us.

I'm sitting on the couch, Oliver laying half on my chest, half on my stomach, purring away. Brandon's flipping through channels on TV, anxiously awaiting tonight's Mad Men. I adore summer evenings like this.

We ate this weekend...a lot. Too much than I would like to admit, actually.

Friday afternoon brought with it an early supper and a rewarding Friday beer at Rusty Taco.

We celebrated my brother-in-law's 30th birthday at TopGolf; I had to pry Brandon away from the place at 10:30, just begging to go home because I was yawning so much.

We drove down to Milford, Texas {bet you have no clue where that is} to visit my grandparents on Saturday and brought them a meal because of my grandfather's recent surgery and impending chemotherapy.

After our afternoon of visiting, we popped into Breadwinners for an early supper. Brandon ordered chicken and waffles, I ordered shrimp and grits. And we topped it off with a Bloody Mary. Because you can't eat chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits without a Bloody Mary. It's like...un-southern.

We stayed up really late Saturday night watching Hatfields & McCoys on the History Channel...and I'd hate to admit that we slept in today because of it. Well that, and I was up until about 1:30 a.m. racking my brain for an upcoming gift for someone. Sigh

Sunday morning was coffee on the couch with more H+M, followed by some laundry and a bit of cleaning.

...and then we decided to hit the pool for a little Sunday Funday action, courtesy of a cup from Angelica

We read, rested and took dips in the pool when we needed to.

And it was a fabulous afternoon.

Happy Sunday, and happy short week to me!
