Weekend + some

Thank you all for your kind words surrounding the break-in of Brandon's car. It was a really difficult 24 hours, and we are so thankful to our friends and family for your support! Unfortunately, the cost of repairing the window had to be paid by us, as we hadn't met the deductible on our insurance. (As my little brother used to say, "Annoring." = annoying)

But, we got through it and went to my parents house for the weekend for Opening Weekend! We took the day off from work on Friday {such a little blessing} and traveled down I-45 for some R&R.

I didn't see Brandon all weekend {literally}! He left for the deer lease with the men in my family on Friday and came back into town this afternoon. (He loved it.) While we hated to miss Baylor Homecoming, it was really nice to be home.

On Friday evening while the boys were at the deer lease, my mom, sister, grandmother, aunt and I went to dinner at a local Tex-Mex place and went to see my oldest younger brother perform the leading role in "1984."

He did such a great job and I was/am so proud of him! I can't believe he's a senior in high school. Breaks this big sister's heart!

"1984" is pretty dark. The characters had to hit Royden, kick him, throw him, etc. I wanted to get up there and tell them to cut that out!

{Lord help me when we have children!}

I just can't get over how fabulous he did. We are all so proud of him and I'm so glad that I got to see him perform.

{My sister, Maggie, and me before the play.}

Love you, Royden!

On Saturday, we prepared my Mom and Dad's house for the bridal shower my Mom was hosting there on Sunday. Obviously it's November, so we incorporated a lot of "fall" into the event.

This is the kitchen table, which displayed the shower invitation and an engagement picture of the couple atop Cinderella pumpkins.

The sign-in table, with another engagement photo and the hostess' names framed with an "F" (the first letter of the groom's last name) done via Cricut.

I loved the fall theme throughout. (And I need my parents' wine thingy!)

My mother-in-law's friends did this at my bridal shower in Southlake. To ease the bride in writing her thank-you notes (especially to those in the city of her groom's friends and family), you have the guests address an envelope to themselves when they enter the shower.

We framed a little note that said, "Please address an envelope to yourself so Stacy & Reid can thank you for your gift." We then laid out thank-you note envelopes (my Mom gave the bride-to-be the thank-you note set as one of her gifts), pens and a large bowl in which to drop the envelope.

I might be biased, but I love the idea!

{We also made these from Pinterest. So good and easy!}

Brandon got a deer on Saturday (woo for some venison to use in chili and spaghetti, amongst other things!) and we watched Baylor beat Mizzou 42-39 for a Homecoming victory. YAY!

We did all the "showering" today, and Brandon and left in the middle of it to come home. We immediately went for some Rusty Taco and then I went to the grocery store for the week. I was in and out in 20 minutes. For a week's worth of food. That has to be some sort of record. :)

And for my "+ some":

I am IN LOVE with my glitter french manicure that I found on Pinterest. The nail people took the picture {of course I brought a picture in} so they could display it as options for other people. Haha!

Are any of you totally thrown off by this time change, because I sure am. I was up and at 'em at 7 a.m. today, and I've been hungry at odd hours (e.g.: 11 a.m., 5 p.m.) because we clearly eat at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. daily! And, I love fall, but I hate that it gets dark so early. Makes me hungrier and sleepier.

I did see on Fox News on Friday that the "fall back" time change actually does make us gain weight because of the darkness and the need/want to just stay in and be cozy. If that's really the case, then I need to be buying vegetables and fruits until about March, because goodness knows I don't need to gain any more weight!

Hope y'all have a great Monday. I'm off to cuddle with that husband of mine!
