What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday! I can't believe we're here already; can I have four-day weeks every week?

Here's what I'm loving:

{Photo stolen from Ashley's blog, linked above.}

Ashley and I used to work together, but after her sweet baby girl was born, she decided to stay home with her and be a full-time mommy. (Jealous! Ha!) Anyway, over the weekend I found her blog and after some stalking, noticed her homemade cinnamon spice coffee trick.

You pour your coffee (we use the Starbucks Pike Place Roast) into your coffee maker like normal, then shake a little ground cinnamon (not cinnamon sugar!), ground nutmeg and ground cloves over the coffee grounds. I didn't have ground cloves, so I just left it out. I'm going to take this moment to say that:

A) I am obsessed with this coffee. And so is Brandon. Win-win.
B) I use a LOT of coffee creamer because I hate the taste of coffee. Lucerne's Cinnamon Vanilla Coffee Creamer + this invention = a happy, happy me in the mornings.
C) My house smells awesome around 7 a.m. every day because of this.

Please try this and let me know what you think!

I bought a version of the large lantern for my mother-in-law for her birthday (at TJ Maxx, shhh!) and I am ob-sessed with it. I was {thisclose} to not wrapping it for her and keeping it for myself, but that would make me a pretty crappy daughter-in-law, so I gave it to her. I think I'm going to stop by TJ after work and get one for myself, per my husband's suggestion! What a guy.

Since all of our regular TV shows are on a summer hiatus, we finally found a "no-thinking-involved" TV show we can watch this summer. While I don't agree with some of the principles of this show (hello, they don't know the person and have to spend the night the same bed...the first night), I do think that every couple could benefit from being thrown out into a jungle and have to complete tasks together. Really shows a person's true colors, no? We definitely laughed out loud in a few parts.

This picture of my Mom and me (circa 1992)

As I was cleaning out and organizing this weekend, I found this picture of my Mom and me circa 1992. Check out those floral dresses (that were homemade, no less!) and white pantyhose! I love it!

I don't remember this picture being taken, but it was taken at my great-grandparents house and the dress I'm wearing was my flower girl dress for my parents' wedding. (Don't you love that ranch-style roof? I do!) So sweet. I framed this and it's on my desk in our bedroom.

And let me tell you what I'm not loving:
Dallas weather in July.

Take a look at these temps:

Ugh, no relief in sight. I am constantly hot (I wake up drenched in the mornings, and we keep our air on 68 at night!) and it's miserable. I told Brandon that while I absolutely adore living in Texas, I hate the summer heat. I don't know if I'll ever get used to it, and I've lived here my whole life!
