Love me some organization!

"A place for everything, everything in its place."
-Benjamin Franklin

Remember this post about us staying put in our little apartment? And remember me telling you that I wanted everything to be "homey" and really feel like home?

Well, when our washing machine was delivered yesterday, Type-A me had this crazy need to organize everything in the laundry room closet.

{It's weird, though. Typically I'm an organizational freak. However, when it comes to anything in a drawer, behind a closed door, I typically am not as OCD about it. For example, this teeny room.}

So, while my husband was working out, I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond for organizational stuff. (LOVE that place -- they have a whole section just for laundry room organization!)

$23 and a handy husband later,

The Swiffer Wet Jet is hanging via a hanging screw thingie (I'm not Tim the Tool Man Taylor, okay?), the broom/dustpan and Swivel Sweeper are hanging via a Real Simple Utility Holder, and the ironing board and iron are mounted on an ironing organizer.

{Can I please just say that I'm so excited that Real Simple has products now!?}

And now, the shelves above the dryer are all organized, too! The detergents, dryer sheets and towels are on the bottom shelf; saved shopping bags are on the second, along with matches, old "car washing" towels and lightbulbs in the baskets (which are from college, btw); and the top shelf is just crap. Crap that has no other home...except the top shelf of my laundry room. Ahh, feels so good.

And world, meet my new washing machine and our ridiculous amounts of toilet paper and paper towels. Oh, and the pink laundry basket that was like, $1.97. Love.

PS: I absolutely hate toilet paper still in the plastic it's wrapped in. It gets all loud and tangly and it's so much easier to just come home, take it out and store it somewhere other than below the bathroom sink. Of course, I always have two spares in the bathroom, but I like that extras are always in one place inside the house that anyone can access. Moving on.

And here is the tiny size of my laundry closet. Now do you see my need for wall-mounted storage? :)

I'm so happy with it, and honestly, all of this organization actually makes me want to do laundry.

Now, wonder if there's something that I can organize that will make me want to clean the bathrooms...

Happy Weekending!!!
