Where do I even begin?
This has probably been the busiest weekend we've had in a long time and I'm exhausted!
We both took Friday off and made homemade brunch (complete with mimosas in our wedding champagne flutes -- so fun!); visited homes with our Realtor (see below for an update); got our wedding rings cleaned; went to dinner at Blue Mesa; stayed at my in-laws Friday night; Brandon ran in the Mud Run in Fort Worth on Saturday; I visited my aunt and cousins while hubs ran; went to Dallas Farmer's Market for flowers (update below); basically updated our entire house; went to the grocery store; got our cars washed; did Spring cleaning; wrote thank you notes; and cooked supper.
Now for pictures:
My in-laws got me this cute little bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes. So yum!
My gift from them was a set of six monogrammed wine glasses. I love them!
My mother-in-law has some very similar and I always tell her how much I like them. And, lo and behold, I now have six of my very own. Can't wait to use them!
Now for an update on our house hunt:
I know, I know. It just began to get really stressful. Hubs has a few things he'd like to take care of first, and, we decided that it's never a bad thing to save any money. I was really upset at first, but after praying about it and talking it through together, we decided it's the best thing for us right now. Whenever the Lord wants it to happen, we are confident He'll let us know. It's just so true the statement, "We make plans and God laughs."
So, since we're postponing, we decided to make our apartment (that we've basically just been throwing all of our wedding gifts, things for the house into every corner that it would fit and neglecting cleaning since we thought we'd be moving soon), HOME.
That bedding we got for our wedding but were waiting until we bought a house to use it? Now on the bed. The TV I won at Relay for Life? Now mounted to the wall. The porch we've been neglecting? Now swept and filled with hydrangeas, impatiens, mint and basil.
We moved mirrors and photos around and put them exactly where we want them--not where they landed. I bought new picture frames for the ugly ones I've had since high school. I bought new placemats and set our table with our china (that I totally forgot what it looked like). And that? Hubs' idea. It really does give us a little bit of "fancy" in our little home. And who doesn't like fancy?
I hope you all had a great weekend! I'm off to get cozy in my bed and enjoy our new bedding!
