it was wonderful.

It was an absolutely wonderful 24th birthday. Thank you all for your sweet e-mails, calls, and well-wishes!

I started celebrating on Thursday with a lunch at Iron Cactus with my friend Jordan. When we were finished eating, our waiter (who overheard me talking about my birthday plans) brought out this sundae, complete with a candle. So sweet!

Friday brought early morning calls from family and friends, and what else?
Presents. :)

My parents made me this awesome chalkboard frame (see my parents' frame here). It is so cute and it's so special to me that they both worked on it.

They also sent me these cute monogrammed note cards (that my mom made!) and notebook with my name on it. My mom has a Cricut and she is getting to be so Martha! Oh, and who can forget the gift card to Banana Republic?! I'm so excited to go shopping for some spring clothes.

Thank you, Mom and Dad.

Brandon absolutely shocked me with this beautiful right hand ring from Tiffany's.

{I cried.}

And then, as if the gorgeous ring and dinner at Mattito's weren't enough, he surprised me with tickets to Kenny Chesney and the Zac Brown Band at Cowboys Stadium next weekend!

{Again, I cried.}

When we were still dating, I went with hubs' family to Orange Beach, Ala. on vacation. His cousin, Gene, has a boat and while we were relaxing aboard the boat, Gene would play "Whatever It Is" over and over and over again. If you've never heard it, there's a line in the song that says:

"You know, I've never been the type that would ever want to stay. Bring 'em home at night and they're gone the next day. But that all changed, when she walked into my life. People askin' why it is, I tell 'em 'I don't know. Just something about the woman makes my heart go haywire. She's gonna be my wife.'"

That song basically became "our" song after that week at the beach, as silly as that sounds. It was after that weekend that I really knew that I was going to be his wife.

So, needless to say, this concert is kind of special! :)

{Don't mind my giant plate of sour cream chicken enchilidas. And a taco. And rice and beans.}

We're enjoying today off (but of course I woke up at 7:45 a.m.!) with homemade brunch, a trip to the Social Security Administration to finally legally change my name, looking at houses with our Realtor and a bit of shopping.

Happy Friday!
